🌿 Meet Opie – A Gentle Soul Ready for a New Chapter 🌿
Sweet Opie has known love, but not the life she truly deserves. Adopted as a puppy, she spent her first two years mostly confined to a backyard — not walked, not socialised, and missing out on the adventures that every dog should have. Despite that slow start, Opie has blossomed into the most gentle, affectionate and loving girl, and now she’s ready to step into a life full of cuddles, car rides, belly rubs, and beautiful new beginnings. 💛
⸻
🐾 Personality & Quirks
Opie is the very definition of a sweetheart. She adores being near her people, always quietly keeping you company, but she also understands when you need space. She’ll happily nap nearby or potter about until you’re ready for snuggles. If she’s not getting quite enough attention (or if she’s a little sore — like after her recent desexing), she’ll “talk” to you with soft little whines to let you know. It’s endearing and oh-so-Opie. 💕
⸻
🚶♀️ Favourite Things
Opie lives for her daily walks — they’re the highlight of her day. A good 30-minute stroll makes her tail wag and her heart happy. She’s social and confident when meeting other dogs and people, and she’s always excited to make new friends. Car rides? She’s your copilot — nose out the window, wind in her fur, loving every second.
Other favourite things include:
• Belly rubs and face scratches 🐾
• Doggie playdates of all shapes and sizes 🐕
• Quiet evenings curled up beside you after a day of fun 💤
⸻
📚 What She Knows
Opie is a clever girl! She already knows “sit” and patiently waits for permission before tucking into her dinner. She’s currently learning “shake” and picking it up quickly. She’s toilet trained, uses the doggie door confidently, and even adapted to using puppy pads indoors during recovery — clever cookie!
⸻
👧 Great With Kids, Cats & Dogs
Opie has met children as young as 3 and is incredibly gentle with little ones. She’s also friendly with cats and gets along beautifully with other dogs — in fact, she’d love a canine friend in her future home. 🐶💕
⸻
🏠 Home Alone & House Manners
Opie is calm and well-behaved when left home alone from 8:30 – 5:30 while her foster carer works. When you return, expect a joyful welcome — complete with wiggly tail, happy hops, and lots of kisses. She’s polite indoors and slots easily into household routines.
⸻
🌄 Her Ideal Home
Opie would thrive in an active home where she can enjoy daily walks, outdoor adventures, and plenty of social time. She’d love a home with children (8 + recommended), teens, or adults, and she’d be happiest with another friendly dog to keep her company. But whether you’re out exploring hiking trails or simply curling up on the couch, Opie will be your loyal, loving sidekick through it all. 💚
⸻
✨ In Short: Opie is a beautiful blend of playful and calm, social and sweet, adventurous and affectionate. She’s the best friend who’ll join you for a hike, then curl up for a cuddle — a companion with a heart as big as her smile. Now, she’s waiting for someone special to give her the life she’s always deserved.
