🌟 Meet Lurch – A Little Dog With a Big Heart Who Needs a Patient Hero 🌟
Sweet, sensitive Lurch is on the lookout for a calm and understanding foster or foster-to-adopt home as soon as possible. At just 1 year old, this petite boy has already been through a lot, and while he’s full of love and affection, he needs someone patient and dedicated to help him feel safe and start building his confidence. 💛
⸻
💞 Lurch’s Personality
Lurch is a total sweetheart with people — affectionate, cuddly, and absolutely adores kids. He thrives on closeness and wants to be near his humans as much as possible. Once he trusts you, you’ll have a devoted little shadow who loves nothing more than snuggling up and being part of the family.
⸻
🚧 What Lurch Needs Help With
Lurch is a work in progress — and that’s okay. He just needs someone willing to guide him gently:
• 🐕🦺 Reactivity: Lurch is very reactive to other dogs on walks — he will bark, growl, lunge, and squeal, even trying to pull out of his harness. For this reason, he’s best suited as an only dog in the home and with someone committed to continuing positive training.
• 🚗 Car Rides: He’s highly anxious in the car and will need slow, gentle desensitisation.
• 🌙 Sleeping: Lurch is used to sleeping in bed with someone and struggles to settle alone. He currently sleeps on a bed on the floor but wakes multiple times during the night.
• 🏡 Toileting: He’s doing well with toilet training and will go to the door when he needs to go out, but he hasn’t yet learned to use a dog door.
• 🐾 Training: He knows “sit” but needs repetition and patience to respond consistently.
⸻
🌿 Daily Life With Lurch
Despite his challenges, Lurch is a joyful, loving companion. He’s happiest with people, loves being included in daily life, and bonds deeply with his humans. He’s good with children and loves to cuddle up for pats and affection. In the backyard, he’ll let you know when there’s a dog nearby — barking at any pups he hears — but this can improve with time, structure, and reassurance.
⸻
🏠 His Perfect Match
Lurch needs a calm, dog-free home where someone is around more often than not — a person or family willing to give him patience, structure, and lots of love. Experience with anxious or reactive dogs would be a huge bonus. He’s a sensitive soul who will blossom with the right support and become the most loyal little companion you could ask for. 💚
⸻
📩 Lurch needs a foster or foster-to-adopt home urgently. If you have the time, love, and patience to help this sweet boy grow into the confident, happy dog he’s meant to be, please apply today — he’s ready to find his safe haven. 🏡💙
