About Emergency Exit
*In foster care in Canterbury, Sydney*
The poster child for less-than-great first impressions, Emergency Exit (aka Emi) is actually SUCH a sweetheart - you just have to get past his tough guy facade to find out!
Born on the streets to a feral mother who taught him and his brother to fear the world, he can be jumpy when he hears a loud noise, and his first instinct with new humans is still often a nervous hiss, in an attempt to appear big and tough and strong...
But once he's got that out of his system, you realise he doesn't mean it at all! Emi is hands-down the sweetest, cuddliest and goofiest boy in all the lands. He's also the softest thing you've ever touched, and floppy and soft - like playdoh had a baby with a fur coat :)
On his back for tummy tickles, squashed into the crook of your arm, squeezed against your chest or being smothered in kisses, Emi loves it all and will let you know how happy he is with the loudest little motorboat purr! His carer has fostered countless kittens in her time, but in her words: 'Cuddling Emi is an experience rivalled by no other!'
Emi's also playful once he's feeling comfortable and safe, and even when in full play mode he's incredibly charming. He never uses his claws or teeth, instead batting at your hands gently with his soft little paws or racing around the room pretending to break the world speed record :)
He's truly such a special boy, and he'll make the ultimate companion for an equally special person.
Like all Maggie's pets, Emergency Exit is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: I have so much love to give, but I'm definitely a sensitive soul - so I'm looking for a wonderful person who'll love me for me, quirks and all! I can find unpredictable things a little tricky, and sudden movements or noises can spook me a bit, so young children and other pets in the home probably won't work for me.
My perfect home would be with a person/couple who's patient and kind, and willing to look past my initial nerves to my super-sweet personality lying just under that surface. A relatively calm and quiet environment would be amazing!
When I feel comfortable I shine, but I do need to know that nothing scary is about to happen, and just a little more reassurance than your average kitten. But everyone tells me I'm SO worth it :)
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Medium, I'd say. I do enjoy a good race around - often flopping onto my side mid-zoom, which sends me sliding across the floor and makes everyone laugh! - and I love to play with toys and my brother Evacuation Plan (aka Evie). But my ultimate passions are a nice warm lap and endless pats and snuggles.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Kids of at least high school age (12+) who understand to approach me gently would probably be fine, though an adults-only home would be my dream.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: Unfortunately I'm not keen on the resident pets in my foster home, so no other pets please. Or maybe you'd like to take me home with my brother Evie? We're super-sweet together and would love to be adopted as a pair! Here's his profile: https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/1133522

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
