About Bessie
*In foster care in Newtown, Sydney*
Meet Bessie - biscuit maker, nap queen, and your next best friend!
Bessie is a beautiful 6-month-old black and white cat with stunning green eyes and the squishiest round little face. Full of affection, she loves curling up next to you on the couch or bed, especially after a solid biscuit-making session on her favourite squishy blanket :)
She’s tidy, gentle, and fully litter-trained too - a dream housemate! While she enjoys her quiet time, she also has bursts of playful energy, especially when chasing wand toys or zooming around with her cousin Sissy.
New places can be a little overwhelming for Bessie at first, but with a quiet environment and a bit of patience, she’ll find her paws and show you her sweet, loving side.
If you’re after a calm and affectionate companion with a playful streak, Bessie is your girl!
Like all Maggie's pets, Bessie is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: I'll thrive in a loving home without too much bustle, where I can feel safe and confident and settle in at my own pace. A gentle single person or couple, or a family with patient kids would be wonderful!
I'm also great with other cats, especially my cousin Sissy, so I'd love to join a home with friendly feline company or be adopted as part of a duo. Here's Sissy's profile: https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/1124881
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I’m the perfect mix of cosy naps and playful zoomies!
Sometimes when I’m deep in dreamland, I suddenly remember my human exists - I’ll pop my head up, half-asleep, and start headbutting and nudging them for pats like it's an emergency! I also love watching birds from the window with big curious eyes… but let’s be real, if one ever came too close, I’d probably run and hide. My all-time favourite hobby, though? Making biscuits on my blanket like I’m kneading dough for the world's tiniest bakery. It’s a full-time job and I take it very seriously.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I don't have experience with children, but I’d likely be fine with respectful kids who'll understand my need for time to settle in. As long as I’m given space to come out on my own terms and no one forces cuddles right away, I’m sure to warm up and there's every chance I'll become a sweet companion.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I’m currently living with my cousin Sissy, and we’re the best of mates - we play and nap together, and lovingly groom each other every day. I’d be so grateful to be adopted with her or into a home with another friendly, gentle cat!
Dogs are an unknown quantity at this stage, but we can always try it out? Please just make sure to introduce us slowly and with care.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
