Aniseed is a sweet, quiet gentleman who’s looking for a loving home where he can lounge in comfort and enjoy life’s simple pleasures.

After retiring from racing under the name Catch the King (had 22 starts, 2 wins and one… well let’s say he opted out) Aniseed had a brief taste of pet life before circumstances led to him being surrendered to a rural pound. Now, he’s ready to settle into a stable, loving home with humans who appreciate his affectionate nature and his true calling of being a couch potato.

Personality:
Aniseed may seem aloof at first, but don’t let that fool you—he loves gentle pats from anyone willing to offer them. Once he bonds with his people, he cherishes their presence, happily trailing after them like a shadow.

And if you're looking for a dog with a little goofy charm, Aniseed delivers! He’s known to trip over his own lanky limbs when excited—usually when welcoming his humans home, at mealtime, or heading out for a walk.

What He Loves
✔ Short, leisurely walks twice a day
✔ Lounging on soft surfaces with his humans
✔ Food! Cheese and peanut butter are particular favorites

What He Doesn’t Love
✘ Being left alone—he’ll cry and watch for your return (but shows no destructive behaviors)
✘ Baths—he tolerates them, but they’re far from his favorite activity

Training & Behavior:
✅ 100% housetrained—no accidents, ever!
✅ Fantastic on leash—doesn’t pull and responds well to gentle guidance
✅ Comes when called indoors (though recall is weaker outdoors—typical sighthound behavior!)
✅ Stands calmly at your side —greyhounds aren’t known for sitting, but he’s patient and well-mannered
✅ Waits for permission before eating

Other Pets & Home Life:
🐶 Dog-friendly! Has shown no reactivity, including toward small fluffy dogs
👶 Untested with kids, but likely fine with calm, dog-savvy children
🐱 Untested with cats
🏡 Best suited for a calm, predictable home where he’ll have companionship — either human or canine

✔ A commitment to regular walks and plenty of soft spots for lounging
