About Shrek
Shrek is a BIG boy, goofy, clever boy with a heart of gold. He’s looking for a home where he can have the warm and loving family in his life that he deserves.
Shrek is a sociable creature, he listens to commands, likes attention, but is content to entertain himself by playing with soft toys. He especially enjoys long squeaky toys that can be thrown up in the air.
He is a big affectionate boy and will come looking for cuddles, sitting in front of you and seeking permission by putting a single paw on your leg.
Shrek is well toilet trained, and if he has to go, he will try to let you know.
He is a young boy who has plenty of energy so would need a couple walks a day, or space in the backyard to let it out.
Shrek is a clever boy who can sit, shake and will drop. He would benefit from someone who is willing to invest the time in training.
As a young dog Shrek is still finding his way in the world, he likes the company of other dogs, and people, but is not aware of his size and strength, so his forever home will need to have people and animals who can work with him in this regard.
Shrek is currently roommates with a greyhound, the two play together and sleep in close proximity. They are fed separately, but neither have displayed food protective tendencies.
He is a gentle boy who will take an offered carrot from your hands very gently.
He behaves well on the leash and loves exploring, again he is a big dog so he can pull with strength.
Shrek is very relaxed and well behaved in the car, he has required no assistance in jumping in and out. Shrek seems to not mind noise and excitement, barking dogs, and neighbours partying don’t phase him.
Shrek prefers living inside with people but is comfortable and prefers the space and freedom being left outside if no one is home with no barking or crying to disturb the neighbours.
