About Jenga
Jenga, Jenga, stacked with care,
In your heart, he'll always be there.
Piece by piece, he’ll show his heart,
A loving companion from the start.
We call him Jenga, Jenga that beautiful one-brow boy. Jenga is a 1 and a half-year-old Jack Russell cross Kelpie. He is a small, desexed dog who started his journey at a rural pound before becoming part of his foster family’s home, where he is slowly coming out of his shell day by day.
Jenga is very timid when he meets new people, but as he gets more familiar with them, he becomes a loving and energetic dog. He just needs time to come out of his shell, so some patience is needed. Jenga loves chewing on his deer antlers and brisket bones, which help keep his teeth clean. Currently, he’s undergoing a protein test as his tummy doesn’t agree with Kangaroo biscuits. He loves chicken and beef but has yet to try lamb and other proteins. He loves other dogs and enjoys doing zoomies around the backyard. He can be an only dog or have a playmate.
Jenga enjoys cuddles on the couch, chasing the ball, or just chilling on the back deck. He likes walks but needs some help getting started on the walk, and he loves to follow another dog's lead. Jenga is food-driven. Due to him being underweight, a slow feeder is recommended until he reaches the recommended weight. He loves to steal food, so keeping dogs separate at mealtime is recommended until he reaches his ideal weight of 12kg.
Jenga is making progress with his training. He can sit and wait while on the lead but needs help when walking by himself or with another dog as he can pull a little bit. His toilet training is underway, he is crate trained, and can sleep all night in the crate without a peep. When taken out to the toilet, he does his business.
He can be a bit timid around younger children, but with time, he will be okay. He is more suited to older children who are dog-oriented. He is not suited to live with cats or livestock walked him near kittens and cats. Jenga would do best in either an active or chilled home environment. He is a great companion, ready to bring love and joy to the right home.
