Whiskas came into care first then Merry later on, but these 2 formed a instant bond and within just 3 days were hugging. Merry was a bit defensive of her boyfriend being taken from her in the first few weeks and even though he was in rutt Whiskas didn't get too much for her, he didn't cope when sent in alone for desex.
So the second time Whiskas was sent in for desexing his emotional support ferret Merry went along too and Merry was mildly nipping the nurses to tell them to bring him back to her, Merry being around allowed Whiskas to be comfortable enough for his breathing to stabilise.
While Merry has no medical issues, she doesn't like being away from Whiskas and her original owner started her on the road to minimal biting.
Whiskas doesn't bite he mouthes gently and only gets harder when things become uncomfortable for him, unlike Merry a bad start has caused some manageable issues with him. His joints pop because he was a bottle baby raised on Whiskas wet food, so didn't get adequate nutrition to allow his body to develop normally and he is getting some green lipped mussel powder on the food they share.
This is to help alleviate any potential arthritis signs early on and will need to be continued after adoption, Whiskas may need other meds as he ages to make life comfortable. Because of this these 2 have a reduced adoption fee and any for any adopter they have slightly higher expenses for life, to keep Whiskas living comfortably.
They are on a balanced raw mix that is fed in the evening and of a weekend they get bone or whole prey to help aid in dental health, the raw mix contains:
1.25kg chicken carcass mince
250g chicken necks or wing tips or quail necks
250g beef chunks
250g roo chunks
375g heart
63g Tripe
63g Fish
63g Kidney

Medical notes
Due to a poor diet and being raised incorrectly Whiskas has joints that pop and is receiving green lipped mussel powder to help alleviate early arthritis signs. He also has a nasal problem causing sneezing or mild breathing issues and this is not because of infection, just something wrong with his nasal passages.
Adoption details
Please do not ask for a intact rescue as refusal often offends and it's in the best interest of the companion pet they have this done first, exceptions will only be made for those well known by the rescue. There is a adoption formula to fill out and a picture of the cage is required, they need a cage so they can have a place specifically thier own
All ferrets adopted out are required to be kept on a balanced raw diet, they will smell worse on a incorrect diet as it messes with thier systems and due to not having a caecum they cannot digest plant or vegetable matter. Full balanced raw diet and the vet trips they may need, along with the initial cost of cage or items can be a little pricey.
Phone calls may be made to talk in person about adoption or to offer advice about the crazy wonderful characters in care and you will need to have rental approval if in rental, as sadly small companion pets are classed as livestock so not protected by the companion animals act.
