About Astrid
***WE'RE ALWAYS ON THE LOOKOUT FOR FOSTER CARERS TO HELP US OUT SO IF YOU THINK YOU CAN PROVIDE A TEMPORARY HOME FOR ONE OF OUR BEAUTIFUL CATS PLEASE LET US KNOW. THE MORE CARERS WE HAVE AVAILABLE TO LEND A HAND THE MORE CATS WE CAN HELP REHOME***
Little Astrid is one of the cutest cats you'll ever meet. As soon as you see those big eyes and beautiful tabby coat you'll be instantly in love.
When Astrid first came to us she was quite unwell, so she can be a bit shy around people at first, due to all the poking and prodding we did to keep her alive, but once she has a chance to settle into her new environment and builds a bit of confidence her beautiful personality will begin to shine through.
She is not a fan of being touched. I am making very slow progress and have managed to pat her a couple times briefly but most of the time when I extend my hand she will jump up and move away.
She isn't afraid of people though. She's happy hang out near by and will happily play. She even likes to follow you from room to room to see what you're doing and will let out a loud purr and have a curved tail when she's happy.
Astrid also loves to play so this is a great way to bond. If you get the toys out she will begin forget her fears and will soon be running around. She loves balls so if you have a few of those lying around she will happily chase them around for hours. Once she gets a bit more confident she will also be happy to chase a wand or toy on a string.
Even though she's young and likes to play she actually has a very chilled out personality and is not destructive or mischievous like most young cats her age. She has a very mature soul and, has a very low key personality and is generally happy to just chill out and do her own thing.
She is very confident when around other cats however and will try to emulate what they do. If you lie down on the ground and your cats approach you she will do likewise but remain just out of reach. If you're patting a cat right next to her you can sometimes give her a quick pat as well.
We are hopeful though that as she ages and finds a bit of stability in her home she will become more confident and start to appreciate a humans touch.
Astrid also LOOOOOVES other cats and will quickly bond with those around her. We would love her to go to a home that already has a cat or two in residence that can take her under their wing and show her the ropes. She is in love with our resident alpha and will follow him wherever he goes. She would be a perfect fit for someone seeking a companion for their current furry feline friend.
She does not have a dominant personality and would more than happy to be taken under your current cats wings and shown the ropes. Once she's settled you'll find them hanging out and playing together 24/7.
We have another cat in our care named Ireland who she is also very friendly with if you're looking to adopt a duo 😊

Astrid is also very food motivated so if you're cooking somthing yummy smelling she will come right out of her shell and when that happens you better keep an eye on you food because she wont be far away.

A little about us:
Urban Feline Australia is a newly established cat rescue service, run by one passionate individual with the help of friends and volunteers, that is dedicated to keeping cats out of kill shelters and helping them find loving forever homes. We specialize in helping "surrenders" which are cats that have lived with humans previously but for one reason or another their owners are unfortunately no longer able to look after them. We take your pets into our amazing cat sanctuary where they're treated with love and affection until the right forever home is found for them.
Urban Feline Australia is not a large company with government resources, a large facility and a lot of staff. Our tiny rescue is a one man operation run from the safety of our own home. We do this for the love of animals and our only agenda is to save as many cats as we can. We rely heavily on cooperation from friends, other rescues, our amazing foster carers and the kindness of strangers to survive. Every cent we receive from donations and adoption fees is used to keep our rescue running and cover the cost of food, water, litter, equipment and vet bills for the animals in our care.
We are doing as much as we can right now but our dream is to one day be able to purchase a larger property or facility that would allow us to be able to save the lives of many more cats in need. Perhaps even open a cat cafe so that we can spread our message to a wider audience.
We have recently created a Go Fund Me towards this end so if you would like to donate towards our cause please follow the below link.
