Altair

Hi Everyone, my name is Altair and I am a 7 year old male Borderdoodle (Border Collie x Poodle). I have a beautiful blue and white coat which is non shedding but requires clipping. I am a medium sized dog and very suitable for most families.

I do not have any herding, OCD personality traits that Border Collies often come with. My exercise levels are also much more relaxed now that I have out grown my puppy days.

Right now I just enjoy walking and gentle trots and sniffs around the dog park, through the bushland and along the sand. I only like to dip my paws in the water though, I don't like swimming.

Last year I injured my ACL and had to have surgery to repair it. This does not cause me any issues, but providing me with a preventative diet such as fish oil will assist me. I may possibly require a cartrofen injection once a year, but am unsure.

I have grown up with children and have been well socialised with dogs. I am a happy go lucky boy, that will happily lie on the sofa, have a play with a goat horn or pigs ears to keep me stimulated.

Sadly my sister Vega and I are being rehomed as our family are moving into a small unit and will have no room for us. They are absolutely devastated as they love us so much.

I walk very well on the lead and am not destructive when left alone. I would love a family with kids to play with and to take the two of us out for walks together. As we are bonded we can not be adopted separately (non negotiable).
