About Wally
Seeking a foster carer or forever home for sweet Wally! (And yes, he loves water!)
You know the relationships where you start out as friends and then have the sudden realisation you’re in love with each other? That is how it is with Wally!
What we love most about Wally is his quirks - from his crooked nose to his favourite impression, which is of a hippo in his clam pool (he LOVES water!)
This 5-year-old American Bulldog cross is crate-trained, house-trained and knows all basic obedience commands and thrives with a structured routine.
Wally is independent, low maintenance and low activity. He is a dream to walk and loves his slow, gentle sniffaries – he is not the dog for you if you want a training partner! He’s playful and happiest during a game of tug or fetch. Belly rubs and a brush are the quickest way to Wally’s heart.
Wally will always check in to see where you are but once he knows he’s quite happy to take himself off to his bed or his favourite sunny spot to sleep, he’s not a stage five clinger. He will benefit from ongoing training and someone confident around larger dogs (he's around 33kg).
There’s not a mean bone in this boy’s body, however he is wary, for example of his paws being touched, until he learns to trust you. His ideal people will understand this and be prepared to give him time and training in order to win his confidence.
A single, couple or household with adult children would be perfect for Wally. Wally is mostly fine with other dogs, but can occasionally be choosy. In his ideal home, he would probably prefer to be an only dog.
Wally is quirky, full of character and expression and basically just a goof. His antics will make you laugh. This and his sensitive nature have made him a favourite within our rescue. Everyone has a soft spot for this boy and would love to see him in his perfect home with his forever people!
