Boba Fett

Boba Fett (house name is Rufus) is an 18month/ 2 YO old desexed male Border Collie. He is a Classic working dog Border Collie, full of energy. He was surrendered due to family circumstances changing and them being unable to give him the time and energy he needed to flourish as his best self.

He is an absolute sweetheart, loves cuddles and gives great nose bumps for head rubs. He is hugely affectionate staring into your eyes for ear scratches. Will sneak up happily to sit up on the couch or on your bed if allowed! He has been learning to sit on his bed and understand that inside is bedtime but he does wander here and there to see where you are!

He loves kids of all ages, is fantastic with them. He is enthusiastic to be with his people and just wants desperately to be part of a family pack.

As a Border collie should, he quickly alerts you to any strangers arriving on your doorstep. As a confident working dog owner, he settles for you, when told, “you have it under control”.

He is a smart dog and a very fast learner. Basic commands are sinch but like any teenage working dog, he will test you. He knows how to sit, shake, drop, stay, ‘on your bed’, ‘come back’, just needs a little more training with his new person, to perfect and his recall is good! With a confident experienced BC owner his confidence will flourish.

Has lived with cats in his original home and with foster careers however proper introduction and training for both would be required. Proper introduction with pocket pets also required.

Loves dog company especially like-minded dogs that love running and wrestling and running some more! His foster homes have had working dog breeds.

Due to the trauma, he has experience in his short life, he needs to be an only dog or He needs to be the first dog until he has the reassurance of his place in the pack. I think he ideally would suit a person home often to snuggle up to, to follow about, to help you make sandwiches.

A good-sized backyard, or block with lots of bush land or similar for exploring and for running! Bobba Fett is a true working dog Border collie and needs plenty of mental stimulation and exercise to suit his age and breed. Some form of dog Sport (Agility) would definitely be beneficial. He loves long walks each day, bike rides, beach visits and friendly dog parks. Teenagers and older kids can walk him with a harness, but he can pull.
