About Huxley
Meet our darling little Huxley.
Sweet, inquisitive, sensitive, cheeky, fun and loving. At almost 1 year old, he found himself in care due to his young family not being able to give him the love and attention he deserved.
Sadly, sheltered spending his days and nights in the yard alone, with not a lot of socialization he can be a little tentative in meeting new people. He very, very quickly warms up, give him 24 hours and he will be your very best friend. Considering his lack of socialization he has a really lovely personality.
Huxley is fiercely loyal and bonds quickly. If he could live inside your pocket he would, he is however independent and adventurous, he enjoys a daily walk, a ride in the car, chasing the birds in the yard and taking in new sights and smells.
He has a gentle character and a lot of charisma. Hux is very worried by men, please note while there is no barking and aggressive behavior to speak, he will not approach males at this time and is best to go to a home with females or a male/s willing to very slowly win him over with no expectations of how long that may take.
Hux is a delight to have around and is such an affectionate little character.
He was not accustomed to an indoor lifestyle before coming to us and is adjusting well to his indoor manners. He has recently been desexed and when he first arrived, he did mark or cock his leg, in a multi-pet household and just peaking sexual maturity, as well as not being desexed this was not unexpected. Going forward we haven't had any accidents, but this may happen in a new environment initially. Hux is crate trained and sleeps overnight with no concerns. He has had no formal training like sit etc, but walks well on lead and is quite well behaved for a teenager.
Hux is happiest when making new doggy friends, he is a social little butterfly. He loves making friends big or small. We believe his preference would be to have a dog friend, or Atleast a social home that will allow him make new friends. While he isn't fussy on size, he does need a mate that isn't going to jump, flip or tackle him and hurt his back. He has a great play style and generally matches his friends energy. He has short bursts of energy and loves an arvo nap. While Hux absolutely loves his foster brothers and sisters, sharing from his bowl is a no go. A home that is understanding and able to manage feeding separately is needed.
Huxley is happy in the yard with his friends while his foster parents work and would have no problems with a family that worked to support a lavish lifestyle for him.
Hux lives with a very dog savvy cat with no concerns at all, while she doesn't run . we do believe he would chase in fun a cat that did. So, dog savvy cats would probably be best.
Hux has previously lived in a home with young kids, he enjoys their company so would also have no problems living with dog respectful kids over the age of 7.
Huxley is seeking a medium yard, room to sniff, roll and play, back friendly (no double story houses, apartments, a home with minimal stairs) a loving and devoted home so he can do the same.
Hux will be very missed by his foster mum and has very quickly become her best friend and shadow. He is ready and waiting for his new home.
He is located in whittlesea for meet and greets, if you are interested in meeting him please send a brief description of the home you can provide and we will send you an adoption application form.

Adoption details
Our adoption process has 5 stages -
#1 A brief description of your home-
We ask that you send an inquiry with a brief description of the home that you can provide and why you think your home is suitable for the animal you are inquiring about.
Please note: if you do not send a brief description of the home that you can provide, or if your home is not what is suited based on the pets profile we will not continue with the adoption process
#2 Some questions-
You will receive an adoption application form within 24 -48 hours of your inquiry being sent
#3 Photo's of your yard - Applicable for dogs only -
Please provide photos of your yard including sheltered area from sun and rain
#4 Meet & greet - With other dog/s if you have any -
You will receive an email within 72 hours of sending your application in which we will let you know if your application has been successful. We will then organise a meet and greet.
Please keep in mind our rescue team is small. We work full time and have families and pets of our own. Sometimes emails are missed and some animals have over 50+ enquiries. We try our best to get back to everyone as soon as we can.
Our profiles are written with as much information regarding our animals, if you send an enquiry that does not meet the requirements of the particular animal, we may not reply. We ask you to carefully read profiles in full and the requirements for our animals and their new homes.
*PLEASE NOTE*: Not all applications are successful. We aim to match our animals to their perfect homes, sometimes there are many homes suitable but unfortunately only one animal.
Organized MEET AND GREETS do not guarantee the adoption of our of our animals. Eden Ark have the final say in the meet and greet process, If we feel our animal will not suit your family the trial period will not go ahead.
#5 A 7 day trial period -
If your meet is successful we ask that you have everything ready to take your new family member home that day. If this isn't possible, prior arrangement MUST be made - please understand we are not in a position to hold animals for you. Meet and greets are on Saturdays or unless prior arrangement has been made. Please note your meet and greet will be organised the first weekend available from an approved application, we try our best to accomodate but again we can not hold animals.
Adoption fee must be paid in cash on the day if your meet and greet is successful to start your 7 day trial period.
Once your 7 day trial period is complete,
Welcome to the Eden Ark Family!
