About Sarge
Meet Sarge, a beautiful black and tan German Shepherd with a heart as wide as his handsome grin. He's an 11-month-old, strapping lad weighing around 35 kg, but don't let his size fool you. Sarge is incredibly gentle and has a real knack for brightening up even the gloomiest of days with his friendliness.
He's a sociable chap who just adores being the centre of attention. This often results in getting as close as he possibly can to his human friends, which often translates into the best head-resting, lap-invading, hug-appealing cuddles you can imagine.
Sarge is used to living in a family with children. He absolutely adores kids' friendly energy and has always been gentle and respectful with them. This fantastic companion would fit in seamlessly as part of a family who cherishes the boisterous joy dogs bring.
Although Sarge does not have experience living with other dogs, he could potentially get along well with them given slow introductions and supervised time together. He has plenty of social skills and is generally accepting of most things - provided, of course, they don't interfere with his cuddle sessions!
Sarge has not been tested with cats or pocket pets.
Sarge would love to belong to a home where he can share countless cuddles, enriching walks and much playtime. If you're ready to welcome a big, fluffy ball of love into your life, Sarge could be the perfect pooch for you! This mild-mannered lad isn’t just about size and strength, but also about an enormous heart that has so much love to give to his new family.
If you live in Queensland or Victoria, you can be considered, however you will need to be able to drive with your family to meet Sarge. If for any reason he doesn't fit your family you will be responsible for bringing him back to Sydney or helping us to rehome from your home.
If you think you can give Sarge a new home please contact us by selecting "Enquire about Sarge".
Medical notes
Sarge is microchipped, vaccinated, desexed, wormed and on heart worm prevention.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
