About Oakley
Looking for a furry friend who's the perfect mix of intelligence and chill? Meet Oakley!
Oakley is a connoisseur of the good life, his favourite things include cozying up in a soft resting spot, journeying on sniffing escapades and playing with his ball. He connects with humans in the most endearing ways. Whether it's greeting you with boops upon your arrival home, following you around until you settle somewhere for some snuggles, or rolling for belly rubs, this introverted gem knows how to show affection while respecting boundaries.
Oakley lives for his morning and evening walks, where he indulges in sniffing adventures and hunting lizards. Always alert and excited to venture outdoors, he finds joy in these nature explorations. His energy is balanced with equal amounts of relaxation, happily retiring to his soft bed for a peaceful nap after dinner.
Just a heads up – Oakley's got a few sensitivities and quirks to be mindful of. He values his personal space, and he is exceptionally good at communicating as gently as possible when he is uncomfortable. He prefers to take his time warming up to new people. However, his trust, once gained, leads to an incredibly deep bond of loyalty. He's slightly wary of children due to their unpredictable movements.
With his love for the company, Oakley would be happiest in a home with adults who lead an active lifestyle, preferably without cats. He has never lived with another dog , when out and about, he likes meeting canine pals who have soft, relaxed natures and good social cues that he can read easily. He's a truly rare gem who LOVES little extroverted dogs for playmates!
His dream family will understand his occasional need for solitude while creating a loving and supportive environment where he can fully relax and be himself. He's not a big fan of storms, and he prefers a safe, comfortable place with familiar smells, like the bedroom, to ride them out. While he much prefers to be a totally inside dog, having a secure backyard for a game of tug would make his world complete.
With patience and understanding, Oakley's ready to be your loyal sidekick. So if you're in the market for a cuddly, low-maintenance companion who's always down for a belly rub and a ball game, look no further than Oakley!
Medical notes
Oakley currently benefits from a diet of Hills JD, which effectively supports him through the mild joint pain he occasionally experiences as a mature large-breed dog. Oakley is happily leading an active, healthy lifestyle!

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s owner - the person who knows them best!
It’s a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
From here, the owner will be in touch with you to chat a bit more about their pet, and if they feel your home is the best fit, they will arrange a ‘meet and greet’ for you all to get to know each other.
Should this prove successful, arrangements will be made for the pet to move straight from its current home into yours upon payment of the adoption fee.
The adoption fee is paid directly to PetRescue (via a secure payment link), and assists us to continue to run and develop programs to assist pet owners, just like Home2Home.
Following adoption - change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on listing) will be provided.
