About Tulip - 8 Month Old Jack Russell X
Affectionate Tulip is an 8 month old female Jack Russell Terrier cross. Tulip is affectionate, loyal and loving and so much fun. She’s the energetic family member you’ve been looking for.
Tulip is a 13kg pocket rocket. She’s smart and full of fun and adores her humans. She will fit beautifully in with an active family who have time to show her love and affection as well as continue her training and her socialisation.
Still a puppy, Tulip loves her walks and playing with her humans. She loves the beach and chasing the waves but is also happy to curl up with you at night to watch some tv, resting her head on your shoulder from her favourite position on the back of the sofa. Tulip needs to be welcomed inside with her people and also sleep inside.
Tulip is used to being around people, she loves greeting guests with a wag and a smile. She is great when visitors come to the house.
Tulip has not had much experience of the world prior to being rescued. So new things can be a bit scary. She loves her daily walks and is learning to curb her excitement at new things. She will need continued training on lead and with recall. She is able to sit for a treat and is learning to shake paws. She is affectionate and enjoys cuddles and belly rubs.
Tulip is not currently living with another dog, however she has been tested with dogs and has been ok. She will need an easy and gentle introduction to other dogs and would need to be tested with a potential fur sibling.
Tulip is toilet trained and she sleeps all night without accidents. She sleeps in her own bed in her foster carers bedroom.
Tulip’s ideal family will
- be an active family or couple
- continue her training
- allow her inside with her people
- have high fences
- include her in their daily lives
- be home more often that not
Tulip just wants to be loved which she will return a hundred times over. She has been in a calm foster home where she has learnt to feel safe. She is very protective and loyal and loves to follow her humans. Tulip needs secure fencing to keep her safe, unfortunately rural fencing (wire or mesh) is not suitable.
Tulip would be happy being an only dog or having a fur sibling with a slow introduction. She has not been tested with cats and we wouldn’t recommend Tulip with pocket pets.
Tulip has not been tested with young children. We would recommend she goes to a home with children 8 and older.
Tulip is in foster care Newcastle, NSW and is available for adoption within NSW, ACT and Victoria. Tulip’s adoption fee is $700, she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped.
