About Monique - Located in Port Melbourne
Hello there! My name is Monique, and I must say, I'm simply delighted to make your acquaintance! Allow me to whisk you away into my world of cozy cuddles and endless purrs.
First things first, let's talk about my favorite pastime: snuggling! Oh, how I adore curling up on a soft couch, nestled close to someone I hold dear. I'm the ultimate snuggle connoisseur, and I have a feeling you'll agree once you experience it for yourself.
Now, let's discuss food – a topic very near and dear to my heart (and stomach)! I must confess, I have quite the penchant for delicious treats, especially those creamy delights that make my taste buds dance with joy. A Dine creamy treat? Oh, you know just how to win me over!
Ah, and how could I forget about my furry friend, the young dog I share my space with? We get along just fine, you see. While I appreciate their company, I must admit I have a soft spot for tranquility. A quieter home where I can peacefully snooze on your bed sounds simply divine.
Speaking of beds, let's talk about sleeping arrangements. I must confess, there's nothing quite like drifting off to dreamland while nestled on a cozy bed, perhaps with you by my side. I'm the perfect companion for those lazy afternoons spent dozing away, with the occasional smooch or two to remind you of my affection.
So, if you're seeking a sweet and loving companion to share your days with, look no further! I'm here, ready to fill your life with warmth, purrs, and plenty of snuggles. Together, we'll create countless memories filled with love and joy. Are you ready to welcome me into your heart and home? I promise, you won't regret it!

Medical notes
Monique has a mildly luxating patella. It currently does not warrant surgical intervention, but if the patella deteriorates in the future it may do so. Monique is currently on a daily joint supplement called 4cyte which is mixed into her food, to help support her joints and slow the progression of osteoarthritis which she may develop in her knees later in life. She has recently had her teeth cleaned, and it is recommended daily dental care be incorporated into her daily routine to help keep them clean. Monique's eyes move in a rotational nystagmus when she is resting. This can be normal in certain breeds of cats, and Monique portrays some facial features that do suggest she may have Siamese somewhere in her linage. The nystagmus causes her no problems and is not a health concern.
WORLDWIDE CAT VACCINE SHORTAGE
There is currently a worldwide shortage of cat vaccines and supplies are unlikely to be replenished until early 2024. This is due to complicated supply problems post-COVID. Our vets have limited, and in some cases no supplies available, but are prioritising kittens and previously unvaccinated Cats wherever possible.
Kittens are at the highest risk as their level of protection is very low after the initial protection provided by the mother’s antibodies. While protection will wane a little over time, a delay up to three months is unlikely to result in a significant reduction in levels of protection. It is anticipated that clinics should have regular supplies early in the new year to bring your cat back up to date.
First Vaccination completed
We will try to provide at least 1 vaccination, depending on our supplies of vaccines available, however boosters may become overdue. In this case it is your responsibility to contact your vet as soon as supplies become available. We will not be re-imbursing any of this costs.
We require all cats and kittens to be indoors only and not allowed outside. This is especially important now as there is a risk of coming into contact with unknown cats who may not be vaccinated.
No Vaccination completed
Where we are unable to provide any vaccination during their time in care with us, please contact us on 0459779888 or via email to samantha@neko.org.au, and we will arrange for one vaccination to be done at one of our partnering clinics as soon as supplies are available. Boosters after this will be your responsibility.
Please note that should you choose to utilise your own clinic, we will not be re-imbursing any costs. This is your responsibility.
