About Murphy
To all the tough guys looking for a cat to match your image here I am.
Hi I'm Murphy but you can call me Shadow if you like as I will be yours.
I'm a sweet natured guy who has spent his life on the street and I have the scars to prove it. My ears are tattered and there is lots of evidence that I've spent my life fighting for my place in the world, I am so glad those days are over. It's taken me some time to get used to what a house and regular meals look like but now that I am here I love it, and I will love you too.
I love a scratch and will thread myself through your legs to say hello during the day. My foster mum says I'm a sweet and gentle puss given my hard life, I think she has a soft spot for me. I haven't discovered what a bed is for but a comfy chair is my go to snoozing place. I've met a lot of other people and cats since being in foster so am really versatile, almost a one size fits all. I am however not a fan of the dog in my foster home so a home with only other feline friends is best suited.
I'm also FIV so will need to be an indoors cat only. #fivpositive #nodogs #indooronly #catcompatible
Medical Notes
Murphy has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). FIV is a retrovirus that can compromise the immune system, spread by fighting and deep penetrating wounds. They should lead a normal life despite this diagnosis, but there are a few special considerations that need to be made in regards to their health and well-being long term. These include being an inside only cat; slow and careful introduction to other cats; and annual vaccinations and health checks.
Murphy has a condition called epiphora, sometimes known as blocked tear ducts. This condition has most likely formed as a result of a previous flu infection. Blocked tear ducts can cause the under or over production of tears, and can predispose your cat to eye infections. Therefore they may require intermittent treatment throughout their life.
I am located with my foster family in Butler.

Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
