About Jerry
Introducing Jerry.
Jerry came from the pound very scared and bewildered.
His former owner went into care, so his life experiences have been limited.
Jerry is a charming, gentle, and affectionate soul with a heart as bright as his eyes Jerry is now ready to show the world his personality at his own pace.
Living through some changes in his life, he is quickly settling into his new routine, and boy, does he love his ball games! Jerry takes pleasure in playtime and getting to know other dogs, rejuvenating his social skills in the process.
He is particularly heedful, making good eye contact, and exuding a willingness to learn and please. Given his history, he's not yet comfortable being picked up, requiring slow and calm approach.
Jerry could be quite comfortable in an apartment environment with a fair bit of space for him to roam around and sniff out corners.
To those of you out there with rescue experience, Jerry would undoubtedly benefit from your in-depth understanding and patience. He'll need a little extra time and tranquillity to feel secure once more. But surely, the privilege of seeing this lovely boy bloom to the contented dog he deserves to be is more than worth the wait.
So, if you are looking to adopt a companion who's ready to make memories composed of lots of tail wags and licks of affection, then Jerry may just be waiting for you. Jerry has a short coat and weighs 8.4kg.
He is best suited to a person who has had the breed before.
Ben and Jerry came from the pound together very scared and bewildered. They have settled in well but we have found they are no longer bonded and do their own thing. Their former owner went into aged care, so their life experiences have been limited. Jerry is a gentle affectionate dog who love playing ball and are very social with other dogs. Jerry is very food motivated and smart and quite active for his age. He makes good eye contact with you.
If you are interested in adopting or fostering Jerry, please firstly make sure you have read the "5 steps to Adopt" information, and then complete the adoption questionnaire on our website♥️

Suit Full Time Worker: Not overly needy and can entertain itself. DR recommends play time, dog toys etc.
Apartment Friendly: Could cope in an apartment environment. Regular walks or use of an artificial grass patch is suggested.
NEEDS RESCUE EXPERIENCE: Many people grow up with, or own a dog who has had no bad experiences in life. A dog who is confident and well rounded. However, many rescue dogs have not been as lucky in their lives.
These dogs need someone with previous rescue experience and an in depth understanding of and experience in building relationships with these kinds of dogs.
Adoption details
DoggieRescue is a charitable organisation and as such we rely very much on volunteers to manage our adoptions. We answer initial adoption enquiries by email or phone and then arrange an appointment for you to meet some of our rescue dogs.
At DoggieRescue we believe our dogs deserve to find that special someone who will love them and look after them forever. We know that there are homes out there that are willing to accommodate one more little member of the family and dedicate time to their well being.
