About Coco
SEEKING A Forever FAMILY
For ME
Im Coco - a sweet cheeky girl .
2 years old 25kg female lab mixed breed w Labrador coat . Who knows what I am crossed with ...but I am 100% a good girl and if you give me a chance and help me become the best version of myself , I'll give you my unconditional love .
I've never seen anything but the backyard of a house where I used to live.
I was left there everyday 24/7 .
Despite all this, I am friendly, I love people and I'm actually a playful girl who is eager to learn and so excited to explore the world.
They put me on gumtree for free - I still don't know what I did wrong 😔 they told me they love me when I was a pup 🤷♀️
What Tails of The Forgotten Paws AU Crew say about me 👇
⭐️Within a very short time since meeting her - Coco has learned to be the best indoor dog 🙂 she is calm and well mannered inside the house. She doesn't run around and never destructive. * she has never seen a toy so she doesn't know how to play with toys but she now has discovered the joy of playing with a ball ! Woo-hoo
This girl has the funniest running style 🤣 😂 like a kangaroo/rabbit. SUPER CUTE.
Eventhough she is 2yrs old, she is still a baby at heart.🥲 sweet & gentle. And CHEEKY. She also loves cuddles and giving kisses
She currently being fostered with a male Rottie, a male Mastiff and a female Poodle cross. Psssst: Duke the Rottie is Coco's Favorite 🫶🫶.
She Sleeps well throughout the night 🌙 and she is crate trained but happy to also Sleeps on her bed next to you
She isn't bothered with loud noises and not bothered being left alone every now and then. No separation anxiety etc.
She had general health check and vet gave her the ✅️✅️
Healthy girl they said 😁
Currently getting 2X40mins Per Day Training Walk and desensitisation around busy road etc.
I've been doing very well and progressing nicely thanks to my foster family. I also learned to shake 🤝 hand . I know Sit and Stay.
ℹ️Coco has done well with her leash walking considering her background but she will still need continous help to keep getting better at it. She also will need continuous desensitisation to get used to the huzzle buzzle of the world in general.
She has been doing well with being in a car , she loves car rides and is a clever girl 😉
📋We are Seeking a family that will have the time for Coco . A family that will incld her as a part of the team. A family that will be willing to continue teaching Coco lifestyle skills, everything about living in our world, to keep her safe.
Incld engaging with professional training school if needed
❤️Coco is friendly with other dogs and playful. she just can be a bit too excited in the beginning for 5 mins or so - something that she is learning to be better at very quickly. she is best making friends with more mature calm well balanced dogs. It will be even better if she gets to be adopted into a family with existing similar size dog that is more mature and well balanced , a dog that will take Coco under his/her wing.
She is a lover not a fighter.
When Coco is excited she'll start singing/whistling. Common in dogs as a way to release their excitement but given enough desensitisation she will learn to process all these new found freedom 😊🙂 calmly. We need you to be patient and use positive reinforcement . Never use Aversive method of training.

Adoption details
We have a mandatory house inspection
Shortlisted adopters will be contacted to arrange a meet & greet with the pet and the foster family. **Depending on our foster's availability . We welcome multiple meets, and urge all family members to attend the meet incld if you have existing pet, a proper meet with your existing pet is a must.
Once contacted for a meet & greet, assuming everything goes well and you are a good match for the pet and vice versa, our adoption process is short and can be finalised pretty quick , between 7 to 14 days you can bring your newly adopted pet home.
We require all adopters to pick up their newly adopted pet, rather than us dropping the pet to you, this is to avoid abandonment trauma towards the pet.
We do follow-ups throughout the life of the animal, adopter must be available to provide updates when required , specifically during the 1st 3 months post adoption
You MUST complete our adoption form before we can arrange a meet with the pet you are applying for.
We believe every pet choose their human/home🙏 beyond ensuring each pet is matched with the right home & family that can meet their needs , we also look for signs of true connection between you & the pet you are interested in adopting.
All Adoptions incld vet certificates for desex vaccination and any other relevant vet notes /history .
These documents will only be given to the confirmed adopter once an adoption agreement has been finalised.
We aim to ensure all adopted pet to never be returned, abandoned or surrendered to a pound again so we ask you, In the event that you are unable to care for the animal anymore, you must contact us to seek verbal advice.
Having a pet is a lifetime commitment so It is important that you consider who will be helping you with your newly adopted pet, should you become unavailable or need help down the track .
Some animals will require mandatory enrollment to professional training/behaviorist - this will be noted on the animal's profile & adoption agreement, we will require proof of enrollment before we are able to complete the adoption process/transfer of ownership.
