About Archibald
Meet Archibald, or Archie for short. This affectionate feline is a true gentleman whose sweet demeanour is sure to win your heart over. Shy yet charming, Archie is seeking a tranquil home with a patient, understanding pet parent who can respectfully help him adjust to his new surroundings.
Archie's humble nature prevents him from jumping onto your lap straight away, but don't let this deter you. When he is tucked away in his cherished hidey hole, he is always content with a tender pat initiated by you. At times his kind-hearted nature takes over and he'll make his way to you, softly nudging you for some well-deserved affection. Interestingly, he has an undeniable bond with his foster family's resident cat, so a home with another cat would be an exciting adventure.
The sound of Archie's purrs will become a regular melody in your home - this charming expression of love and contentment emerges whenever he encounters his beloved humans. Witnessing his excitement is a joy that goes beyond description.
Archibald will reward your patience with the most endearing, chin-tickling purrs. His sweet nature captures hearts effortlessly, and his genuine affection is gratifying. If you are ready for a respectful and loving bond, Archibald might just be the perfect match for you. As you continue to encourage his confidence, he will reward you with trust, loyalty, and most importantly, unconditional love.
**Please note, Archibald is an indoor-only cat. The exception to this is if he has access to a secure outdoor enclosure. This is to ensure his health, safety and wellbeing.
**Archibald must go to a home with another cat, or adopted out with another cat to avoid single-kitten syndrome. Learn more about this here:
Medical notes
Archie valiantly underwent surgery due to a severe eye condition. Despite the loss of an eye, this gentleman has adapted impressively, proving his resilience. He now navigates his world with ease, ready to be your affectionate, one-eyed buddy. With his journey from survival to thriving, you couldn't wish for a more dutiful and inspirational furry friend.
Adoption details
Regardless of the breed of animal you are looking to adopt, our adoption process is the same.
The first step of the process involves submitting an adoption application form. The form helps us understand a little bit more about you and your household and is used to figure out whether animal is the right fit for your household and what you are looking for, and also if your household is the right fit for the animal.
After a review process, shortlisted applicants will be contacted by one of our volunteer adoption coordinators usually by phone call or message. This is an informal conversation to discuss any questions we may have about the application and re-confirm any information provided. It is usually at at this point that we will organise a Meet & Greet with you and the animal.
It is a Strong Heart’s adoption policy to arrange a Meet & Greet with the prospective family and the animal before finalising the adoption. The Meet & Greet will allow the opportunity to visit the animal and have a pat and a play with them. The foster carer will tell you a bit about the animal's personality and what they have been like for the time they’ve been in their care. It is a great opportunity to ask the carer about the animals food, sleeping and any other health requirements.
If the Meet & Greet goes well on the day, in most cases you will be able to take the animal home straight away after payment of the adoption fee. All necessary paperwork including vet work history and transfer of ownership information will be sent via email within a few days unless otherwise specified.
