About Jessie
Jessie is looking to be rehomed as her young owner is currently facing homelessness and is no longer able to meet her requirements and cannot afford to give her the proper care she needs.
Jessie’s ideal family would be someone with breed experience and willing to give her the additional training she needs. Someone who is adventurous and willing to take her on hikes and provide her with plenty of stimulation. She needs a home with plenty of backyard space and maybe even an obstacle or two to jump over. Jessie can also be left alone when people are needing to go to work, just as long as you are willing to give her the extra love when coming back from work.
Jessie although being a very energetic dog, can be slightly anxious of new surroundings and new people, as for most of her life so far it had just been her and their other family dog in the backyard. But it doesn’t take her long to recognise a kind soul. She loves nothing but a good scratch on the belly and a nice cuddle from her favourite people.
Jessie although being in an only 2 dog home, has shown that she is friendly towards cats and understands their boundaries. Jessie is dog selective and needs to be introduced slowly with other dogs, preferably another dog that is also her size. Jessie is suitable to go to a home with children, but as she does jump quite a lot we would suggest a home with teenagers or older children.
As said earlier Jessie does need some additional training, she knows how to shake and to sit, but can ignore the sit command when wanting to jump up onto you. She can display signs of being a bit vocal, but only to alert the owner when something she feels is out of the ordinary. Being a Kelpie x she would love some extra training such as agility training.
