About Darcy - 19 Week Old Kelpie x
Darcy is a 19 week old, male Kelpie X puppy.
Darcy is a very affectionate puppy who would love to find a forever home where lots of cuddles are available. His foster parents refer to him as Darcy-Doughnut because when you sit on the floor, cross-legged, he will run and curl into a doughnut in your lap for cuddles. Though he loves to play with other dogs of all sizes, he is very gentle with young children. Darcy would love a home with a friendly adult dog or another puppy to play with. Darcy is a big fan of tug of war and chasing rope toys. He's not a barker and hasn't destroyed or chewed anything he's not supposed to.
He is a responsive puppy who is coming along well with his basic training. So far he knows to sit, shake, come, and wait for food. He is very food motivated which certainly helps. He walks very well on a lead with or without a harness. He travels very well in the car. Darcy is toilet trained and crate trained. He would prefer a home where he can have a crate to make his safe sleep space.
Darcy will likely grow up to be a medium to large dog. He is very well socialised with other puppies and adult dogs however has not been tested with cats or other pets.
Darcy will need to be welcome inside when people are home and to sleep inside at least until he is fully grown. You will need good fencing with no small gaps.
Darcy Overview:
- Smart and responsive to training
- Affectionate and playful pup
- Needs secure fencing
- Would love another pup or dog at his new home
- Not tested with cats or other pets
- Great with young children
- His new family should provide plenty of affection, attention, exercise and training
Darcy's adoption fee is $700 which includes his desexing when he is old enough. It also includes his first two vaccinations. He has been treated for fleas and worms, and is microchipped.
Darcy is in foster care in Maitland, NSW. Since he is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. He'll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when he's 5 to 6 months old.
