About Fred & Mabel
Mabel and Fred are a very sweet couple who are very bonded. They are now affectionate and are very responsive to people and they both love a lap to sit in!
It appears they have been used for breeding before being dumped at the pound. They are gentle dogs but have not had a lot of affection bestowed on them in the past.
They have got used to walking on lead and harness and have been on a diet since arriving at their foster home. They are very social with other small dogs. Being pugs, they both have brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome (BOAS) and may need specialist surgery at some stage in the future to help with breathing issues.
They came from the pound overweight and with ear and skin infections which have now cleared. They are looking for a home together, preferably with a family who have had pugs before and understand their needs.
They have short coats. Mabel is now a healthy weight of 7.2kg and Fred weighs 8.9kg.
Apartment Friendly: Could cope in an apartment environment. Regular walks or use of an artificial grass patch is suggested.
Suit Part Time Worker: Copes alone for short periods, with training possibly longer but presently does need someone home part of the time
Adoption details
DoggieRescue is a charitable organisation and as such we rely very much on volunteers to manage our adoptions. We answer initial adoption enquiries by email or phone and then arrange an appointment for you to meet some of our rescue dogs.
At DoggieRescue we believe our dogs deserve to find that special someone who will love them and look after them forever. We know that there are homes out there that are willing to accommodate one more little member of the family and dedicate time to their well being.
