About Ralphie
Hi, my name is Ralphie, it’s awesome to meet you all!
Did you know that I’m looking out for my new forever digs and that could be at your place? I sure hope you’ll apply, so I’ll tell you all about me!
I’m a Whippet x Staghound x Greyhound and I’m 2 years old. Whilst I’m a pretty active boy, I’m also a total lap dog if you’d like me to be. I’m really affectionate with my people. I’m house trained, crate trained and I’m confident about staying on my own if no one is home. I’d love a home with some teenagers to play with me, but probably no little kids would be best as I can be boisterous. I love the ball and I love fetch, but tug is awesome too. Oh, and I like water so swimming would be nice.
I can be shy about meeting new people at first and I appear standoffish or submissive, so I want you to be able to help me socialise correctly and build my confidence. If you are not a clear leader, I may try to bark at guests that I think should not be there. Foster Mum has been teaching me not to do this and I’m getting pretty good at it.
I’ve been doing lots of training at my Foster Mum’s place, so I can walk nicely on a loose lead, and I also know how to sit, drop, and stay on my mat when you ask me to, and I have really nice manners. Foster Mum says I train up easily. Whilst I can be a bit sulky about it, I’m not resistant to learning. In fact, I’d love to keep learning so I’d like an adopter who will keep teaching me.
I love cats and dogs, so I’d love to live with a playful young dog or someone who doesn’t mind a few games, but I can be a bit “in-your-face” for dogs who are reserved or not very social, so I may not realise that I’m causing an issue and I’ll need you to guide me. So, if you have a dog already, you’ll need to be experienced in guiding our relationship, otherwise, I’m looking for a single dog home.
I’ve been attending Doggie Daycare since I was 5 months old and I love it! I love to play and I love toys. I am an expert at deconstructing toys so be prepared to buy me heaps of new ones. In general, I’m easy to love and hang out with.
I do have a sensitive tummy, so keeping me on a consistent diet is important, but I am otherwise healthy all over. Will you apply today to love me forever?
