About Hedwig
Hello, my name is Hedwig.
I am a nearly 6 month old Labrador x Kelpie but I think I am more lab than kelpie.
I was found left tied up at the shops in nsw because my owner was unaware that I would grow to a largish dog, I currently weigh 24kgs but I have huge feet so I think I have quite a bit of growing left to do.
I have a big personality and get super wiggly any time my foster parents get home or I meet new people.
My foster dog brothers have a big basket of soft toys and I love getting all of them out at once to play with them, I love the sound of squeaky toys and chasing after balls in the backyard and I’m even starting to bring them back on command.
My foster brothers and I love to play rough in the backyard and I get really vocal when we do play. I love cuddling on the couch with my foster parents but I also like to plonk on the wooden floors, or curl up in my bed. I love to sunbake, chew on sticks and love to go on walks. I’ve been to the beach and went in the water but so far I think I prefer the sand over the water.
I am fully toilet trained and I’ve learnt how to sit, laydown, wait and currently learning recall and how to be gentle when receiving treats but Im very smart and learn really quickly, plus I love food so it makes it easier to train me.
I’ve met my foster mums niece (6months) and nephew (2.5years)and I liked seeing them and was very gentle when greeting them but then all I wanted to do was sniff around the yard.
I also met some cats and was quite interested in them but they didn’t like me and hissed at me so I barked at them.
I don’t mind being left at home on my own for short periods of time but I think I would prefer to have another dog friend with me if my family have to leave for longer periods of time, just to keep me company.
I like being in the car with the windows down and going on adventures to cafes and parks.
I think I would suit a home with a decent size backyard as I love to run around and do zoomies.
I would suit most families but remember I am just a puppy so I have lots to learn and need a family who is patient and willing to continue my training.
I make friends everywhere I go, I’m really cuddly and affectionate and I can’t wait to hopefully find my forever home.
