Sparky 🥎 3yo Maltese x Shih Tzu (Trial 24/1/24)

Sparky is a 3-year-old Maltese x Shih Tzu 🐶. He is a very friendly and outgoing young dog. He greets everyone like a long-lost friend. He enjoys a good belly rub and will roll onto his back to give you the hint. He loves to play fetch.

Sparky is learning to go for walks on a harness and lead. He isn't suitable to go to dog parks or to be let off lead yet because he hasn’t had any formal training. But he is young and can learn whatever you’d like to teach him.

Sparky isn’t a nuisance barker. He hasn’t been tested with cats. He needs to have a yard, but a small one will do.

He is good with children but isn’t suited to live in a busy household with children under 12. He is good with other dogs so long as they don’t try to take his treats or food. He would be happy to live with other small dogs or he could be an only dog.

Before being rescued, Sparky lived outside with another dog (Lucy, who is also available for adoption). Since coming into care, Sparky is enjoying being inside and meeting new dogs and having the attention of his foster carer. He is now housetrained and goes out the open door to the garden as needed.

Sparky is very much an inside dog and needs to be welcome inside, on your furniture, and to sleep inside. He is fine left at home alone, but if you work full time or are away for long hours, Sparky will need another dog for company.

💕 Sparky weighs around 8kgs. He has a soft, wavy coat. He doesn’t shed so she needs professional clipping approximately every 4 to 6 weeks and regular bathing, and nail clipping. You should be prepared for this expense if you want a low shedding dog. He needs to be combed every few days to prevent tangles.

* has time to spend with him and give him lots of love,
* doesn’t have children under 12 years old,
* has a yard where he can play fetch,
* lives in NSW or ACT.

🌺 Sparky is in foster care in Belmont, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle). ⭐️ His adoption fee is $700 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas, worms, vet checked, and microchipped.
