About Lucy π Cavoodle, 3yo (On Trial 27/1/24)
Lucy is a 3-year-old Cavoodle (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x poodle) πΆ. She is gentle and quiet. Once she gets to know you, she loves to sit next to you and be petted and brushed.
Lucy is such a sweet girl. When meeting new people, she will stand behind her foster carer or a dog friend until she feels safe. Lucy would be happy to live with other small dogs or to be the only pampered pooch.
Lucy is learning to go for walks on a harness and lead. She isn't suitable to go to dog parks or to be let off lead. She hasnβt had any formal training but she is young and has her entire life ahead of her to learn.
Before being rescued, Lucy lived outside with another dog (Sparky, who is also available for adoption) and her owners never even bothered to name her! Since coming into care, Lucy is enjoying being inside and meeting new dogs and bonding with her foster carer. She is now housetrained and takes herself out the open door to the garden as needed.
π Whoever adopts her will have the joy of watching her blossom to her full potential.
Lucy doesnβt bark much. She hasnβt been tested with cats. She needs to have a yard, even a small one will do.
Lucy is good with children but she prefers a quiet life so isnβt suited to live in a busy household with children under 12. She is fine with small visitors though, if they are gentle and don't try to chase her.
Lucy is very much an inside girl and needs to be welcome inside, on your furniture, and to sleep inside. She is fine left at home alone, but if you work full time or are away for long hours, Lucy will need another dog for company.
π Lucy has long legs and weighs 7.4kgs. She has a gorgeous, softly curling coat, which is mostly black. She doesnβt shed so she needs professional clipping approximately every 4 to 6 weeks and regular bathing, and nail clipping. You should be prepared for this expense if you want a low shedding dog. She needs to be combed every few days to prevent tangles.
