About Hunter
Meet Hunter, a young, healthy, 14 month old male German Shepherd. With his goofy and affectionate character, he never fails to bring a smile to anyone's face. Hunter's lovely, soft coat is perfect for cuddles, and once he gets to know you, he'll proudly display his tummy for belly rubs!
This energetic yet gentle soul has an endearing habit of expressing his enthusiasm towards those he meets, but he settles quickly once he's made his warm greetings. Occasionally a little too boisterous, Hunter's spirited personality simply reflects his love for life and all the fun it brings.
Hunter thrives on consistency and will flourish under ongoing training. He would ideally suit a loving family who enjoys active daily routines with no other animals. This bright-eyed lad has a bounty of love to give, and eagerly awaits the opportunity to become an integral part of his new family.
Hunter adores taking strolls and playing games with his human family. As an ever-present furry shadow, he loves to follow you around at home, never missing a chance to provide companionship. Hunter is no stranger to comfort either - you will often find him peacefully napping indoors, particularly if his family is home as well.
Hunter is a graduate of puppy school and other canine training. He is cooperative with grooming, up-to-date with all vaccines, worming, and regular vet check-ups.
Please note that potential adopters residing in Queensland or Victoria must be prepared to travel to Canberra for a meeting and greeting session. In the unlikely event that Hunter doesn't fit into your family, you would be responsible for helping us find him another suitable home.
If you think you can give him a new home please contact us by selecting "Enquire about Hunter".
Medical notes
Hunter is a healthy boy who has been well looked after and attended all vet checks and received vaccinations, wormed and received heartworm prevention. He is 40 kg.
Hunter is currently not desexed on vet advice, but will be desexed after finding his new home.

Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
