Hello friends! My name is Dennis and I am a 2yo ex racing greyhound.
My racing name was ‘Alice In Chains’ and if you google me you’ll be able to see all my stats, results and pedigree details, you’ll also see why I’m best suited as a pet not a racer 🐌🙈
My last race was only 2 months ago so I am very much getting used to life as a pet but I’m learning quickly!

I am currently happily living with my foster family and they told me I am the bestest boy ever! They have a 10 and 13 year old who I love so much. I do get excited when they’re around and jump a little bit, and because I’m sooooo tall, sometimes I bump them with my head. For this reason my foster mum says I’m best not to go to a home with little ones.

My foster family also have a 5yo cocker spaniel. I thought we might be able to be play buddies but she just wants to lay on her bed and sleep 🙄 I happily accept this and just leave her alone. We do lay on the couch together and eat breakfast and dinner together so I guess we are kind of friends!

No cats or pocket pets. They are fun to chase and I guarantee you, I am faster than them!

I’m ok to be left outside for a little while during the day but I love it so much when you’re home and I can just be near you. Someone who works part time or from home would be perfect for me. Humans are the best!

I love the car! Going places is so fun! Open the door and I’ll happily jump in and stretch out (I take up the entire back seat!) I also love it when my mum puts the window down a little and I can stick my head out. The wind in my hair feels so good!

I don’t really bark. I did once at a teddy bear up on the shelf but mum said he wouldn’t hurt me so I just let him be…lucky for him!

I am a soft and fluffy greyhound and despite being a short hair dog, I shed a fair bit. Good news though, I loooove being brushed so doing this for me a few times a week will keep my hair off your floors 🥰

At my foster families house, I have been happily sleeping outside under cover on my bed. I even have a warm coat to wear! I don’t bark at night and mostly just keep to myself. Sometimes I like to bury my toys so they are ready to play with the next day! I am mostly toilet trained but I still need reminders to go out and that marking on the furniture is not ok.

Walkies are so much fun and I’m told I walk beautifully on a lead! I would love a short walk each day (my foster mum takes me in the morning because that’s when my zoomies come out!) and maybe another short one of a night if you have time. I would love a backyard with nice high fences and lots of room for me to do my zoomies and run with you! Once I’ve been taught recall (which I’m not good at yet) I would love so much to play with other dogs at a park or beach 🤎

I am the BEST “counter surfer” ever. My nose is the perfect height to cruise right along the kitchen bench and if I smell something good, I’m taking it! I have stolen everything from bunches of bananas to loaves of bread! Mum always catches me though 🙈 and I’m learning the word no and wait so if you help me, I promise I’ll stop doing this soon!
