About Pearl
Hi everyone! I’m Pearl.
I’m a 9 year old Australian bulldog looking for my forever home to live out my twilight years. My previous family moved to Darwin, and if you know bulldogs, you’ll understand we aren’t particularly heat tolerant.
I’m a very easy going girl and I’ve thrived in foster care. I’m just looking for a family with some humans to love me, and some comfy beds to sleep on (I’m not even fussy, any size is fine!)
I’ve been in foster care with a small dog older than me, and a staffy younger than me and I’ve had a good time with both. I’m not particularly playful, as I'm in my rest and relax era.
As with most brachycephalic breeds, it’s important I don’t over-exert myself, especially when it’s hot. Dont worry, I’m well aware of that, and my foster carers have even said I’m a bit lazy.
I do love a walk, but around the block is enough for me, and I love having a long leash so I can sniff all the sniffs. I have a short stumpy tail, so I make sure to wiggle my whole bottom when I’m excited. Just so you know how I’m feeling!!!
My foster carers have been spreading rumours that I snore, but I’ve never heard it 🤷♀️
I haven’t had much experience with kids, but am not boisterous, so I’d probably be fine as long as they aren’t going to annoy me.
I can’t live with cats unfortunately, they're fun to chase!I’d like another dog for company, but I’m fine on my own as well. I can stay at home without any anxiety or destruction when my humans go to work, and I use the doggy door independently.
I am obviously not a young dog anymore, so I have some arthritis, mostly in my back legs, however with regular light exercise and keeping my weight in check, I’ve gained some exuberance.
As is common with my breed, I have chronic skin irritations, which are managed with medicated baths when I’m itchy, and weekly ear drops.
My perfect home will spoil me for the rest of my life, be that months or a few years!
