About Obie
Obie is a very sweet older gentleman who is looking for a VERY special home to live out his best life. Dont let his age fool you....he is full of life and loves adventure, along with lots of snoozing :)
Obie is a cream colour spoodle (cocker spaniel x poodle) who adores cuddles and is still quite an active , young at heart doggie.
He loves people, loves to go for a walk and play fetch......he is also amicable with very calm, well mannered dogs but we do NOT advocate off lead parks for any of our tribe.
We use the knowledge and support of homeopathic and holistic veterinary treatment for dogs in care and they all enjoy a completely natural diet (which we would like continued). We do not feed any form of kibble and will pass all of our information, recipes and contacts over to you as well as support you with advice for the lifetime of your adoption from us.
Obie absolutely loves his food so its also very important that he does not get fed table scraps or junk food and he eats from a slow feeder bowl. However left unattended he will raid your kitchen bins so for this reason and others, he enjoys sleeping in his dog crate at night time and a full training package (for the humans) is included in the adoption price.
We are primarily looking for a family who are committed to maintain the diet, lifestyle and maintain the training that Obie is used to. A family who is either semi retired or works from home as Obie is a bit deaf now and will fret if left alone for long periods of time. He responds well to training and is now learning hand signals to help him "hear" effectively.
Obie would love to run around in your back yard to explore and sniff and to play fetch with you; go to cafes and social gatherings with you, and enjoy a short walk each day. He will very happily stay with you in the evening to keep you company and give you lots of snuggles. Obie sleeps in a crate at night which can be located in your bedroom if you wished. Obie enjoys a car ride and is toilet trained.
This loving gentleman would suit a semi retired or retired couple who have time to spend with him and own their own unit or home where he has a back garden to sniff and explore at his leisure.
Since he is a poodle mix he will also need daily brushing and a professional groom every 6-8 weeks with a groomer. He is easy to handle and very well mannered in this area too.
We are hoping to relocate her in the vicinity of the Mornington Peninsula so that we can assist with ongoing support and advice as needed.

Adoption details
PLEASE READ IN FULL before sending an email.
All our domestic pets are:- Vet checked, microchipped, vaccinated or titre tested, wormed and desexed. Horses may not be microchipped. Poultry will not be desexed. Dogs come with training equipment, dog coat (if required), and other extras as necessary.
1. Fall in love with our dogs and Email your interest directly to: hollie66@bigpond.com.
2.Please do not submit your response with one line answers as you will not be shortlisted.
3. It may take us a week to get back to your emails, due to the workload we do. Thank you for your patience.
4. Please ENSURE you have read and re-read ALL of the criteria for this adoption BEFORE you email a request for a questionaire. This will save everyone a bunch of time as there are things we are not willing to negotiate on.
5. You will be contacted for further information and given a questionaire to complete.
6. If you already own a dog, please let us know so we can send you out an additional questionaire.
7. If you are shortlisted you will be contacted for a house and yard safety check, a meet and greet and a final decision will be made. We do NOT organize any meet and greets before this stage. Its simply not viable.
8. A professional training package will then be booked in for a mutually agreeable time frame - this will only apply to dog applications.
9. On the day of your adoption, transfer of ownership and adoption agreement papers are signed, your adoption fee is collected and your new pet stays with you for a negotiated trial period of approximately 1 month and our first training lesson begins.
10. After the trial period, microchip papers are transferred into your name - a copy of which will be sent to you by the microchip company.
Finally, we are only a phone call away for the life of your new pet so rest assured we are always here to assist. We'd love you to stay in touch :)
