About Tornado
Meet Tornado, a delightful ginger gentleman who is ready to whirl into your heart! This charming boy effortlessly earns his name, not only due to his vibrant orange coat, but his exuberant and entertaining personality. He injects a flurry of joy and feline fun into any home he graces.
Tornado shares a strong bond with his humans and frequently shows affection. You will often find him curled up on your bed, taking a nap while you spin your dreams. He's curious and loves to be involved in what's happening around the house, whether you're cooking dinner, reading a book, tending the plants, or you're just settling down for a Netflix marathon.
This sweet boy loves chaos, and he will be more than happy to add an extra layer of mischievous fun to everyday activities. But don't worry, he also knows when it's time to retreat and will respect your need for space and tranquility.
Tornado is a sociable cat who can't resist the opportunity to make new friends. He has lived happily alongside other cats, foster dogs, and even bunnies, demonstrating his loving character and resilience. His perfect family would have at least one other feline friend with whom he can share adventures and warm naps.
Tornado requires an indoor home, as his curiosity and sociability can lead him to wander too far if given the chance. Past experiences with this ginger explorer suggest he is happier and safer when his adventures are kept indoors.
Everyday with Tornado is like a loving whirlwind of feline fun. If you're open to experiences and are not afraid of getting whirled up in a hurricane of love, Tornado is the perfect companion for you. Your home will never lack joy, laughter, and the warm company of an endlessly lovable pet. Chain yourself to a solid post, as this Tornado is set to sweep you off your feet!
Adoption details
Regardless of the breed of animal you are looking to adopt, our adoption process is the same.
The first step of the process involves submitting an adoption application form. The form helps us understand a little bit more about you and your household and is used to figure out whether animal is the right fit for your household and what you are looking for, and also if your household is the right fit for the animal.
After a review process, shortlisted applicants will be contacted by one of our volunteer adoption coordinators usually by phone call or message. This is an informal conversation to discuss any questions we may have about the application and re-confirm any information provided. It is usually at at this point that we will organise a Meet & Greet with you and the animal.
It is a Strong Heart’s adoption policy to arrange a Meet & Greet with the prospective family and the animal before finalising the adoption. The Meet & Greet will allow the opportunity to visit the animal and have a pat and a play with them. The foster carer will tell you a bit about the animal's personality and what they have been like for the time they’ve been in their care. It is a great opportunity to ask the carer about the animals food, sleeping and any other health requirements.
If the Meet & Greet goes well on the day, in most cases you will be able to take the animal home straight away after payment of the adoption fee. All necessary paperwork including vet work history and transfer of ownership information will be sent via email within a few days unless otherwise specified.
Our ‘No-single-kitten’ Policy
Strong Hearts Cat Rescue have a strict ‘No-single-kitten’ policy - no matter how fantastic your application is, unfortunately. That means, we do not adopt kittens aged under 10 months to a household without another kitten companion, or another older cat at home.
Why?
Young kittens need to learn appropriate behaviour from one another, or an older cat (or mentor if you will). If they don’t learn limits in their play with their littermates or other young kittens, they often develop inappropriate playful aggression. It may be cute when a kitten attacks your ankles, gnaws at your fingers or playfully swipes you, but way less cute when they are all grown up still displaying this behaviour. Ouchy!
Having two young kittens (or a kitten and an older cat) ensures that they always have company when you are away from home. Lonely, bored cats can become neurotic and often let their parents know about their boredom by displaying destructive behaviour or inappropriate urination. Yuck!
If you feel you are unable to care for two kittens, we strongly encourage you to consider one of the other wonderful adult cats we have desperately needing a forever home. Please contact us at strongheartscats@gmail.com or direct message us on Facebook or Instagram.
