About Bagheera
Bagheera is a handsome black cat with medium-long hair (once it grows back). Due to serious matting, he was given a funky haircut initially, but his manes are growing back. He will be soon be back to his glorious, luscious self.
He currently lives with his foster mum and 3 other cats (2 male, 1 female). He gets on fine with the other cats, but was introduced slowly and carefully. He was initially quite nervous (more around the other cats than around humans), but he's settled in well. He is confident around strangers, so he has definitely gained some confidence in his foster home. He likes to be around his human and will jump up on the desk/table etc. to say hi. Not quite a lap cat (yet), but he can be picked up (he purrs when you do pick him up, but seems ambivalent about the whole thing, haha). However, he can be nippy from time to time therefore is not suitable around young kids.
He's got a funny, quirky personality and would make someone very happy if they could appreciate him for who he is: a funny, smoochy, sometimes grumpy big guy.
Quirks:
- Loves food, especially tuna. He'd probably be quite chonky if he was fed every time he asked for food. He has an automatic feeding station, so his meals are timed and portioned out.
- He drools when he sees really nice food/treats or when he's really happy. It's so adorable!
- He'll let you know when he's had enough (of playing, touching, attention etc.). You learn to read his body language, but if he's over it, he can give a little bite. This has never been a real bite (i.e. breaking skin, or biting down hard), and he responds well to a firm verbal command/gently moving away to let him calm down. Still, this is probably not ideal around small children.
- Likes to play with balls of scrunched-up paper or other crinkly things, but is surprisingly uncoordinated. Would not survive in the wild, haha!
- Very happy as an indoor cat, but has been given some outdoor time in the enclosed courtyard at his foster home. Enjoys that, too! #catcompatible
Bagheera is located with his foster family in Wembley.

Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
