About Marcie
There is so much to say about this girl and her litter of kittens! These guys are so much fun to have around and watching Marcie teach them all the things ‘cat’, it’s evident to see where they get their great little personalities from.
Marcie is a beautiful calico girl with stunning blue eyes. Her patterned fur is not one you’d see elsewhere, mixes of tan, cream, white and black cover this girls body. She arrived extremely thin and ate like a horse, obviously unsure as to when she’d get her next meal or have her next bowl of fresh water at her side. Now? Marcie is a relaxed, happy, friendly girl who knows there’s food and water that is just for her!
Marcie has raised her kittens so incredibly well and is such an attentive mother. Now that the kittens are weaned she spends her time either sleeping on the bed, ‘disciplining’ her kittens when they’re being naughty or just wanting pats and attention from you! She loves scratching posts and jumping up high to watch what goes on. If you’re sitting down though, this girl is by your side.
Marcie would do well in just about any family home and would be a great first cat for any family. She is so easy-going and laid back. Marcie has a playful side and is still very much a kitten herself being just over a year old. She’s clean, confident and one very thankful young girl. Gone are the days of being stuck in a small cage with no food and water and a future of love and attention is one that we are seeking for her!
Marcie and her kitten, Charlie Brown, are incredibly bonded and seeing them go to a home together would be most wonderful. If not, Marcie would do better in a home as either an only cat or with a female cat. She doesn’t seem too keen on the boys (who can blame her!) and wasn’t too intimidated by the female cat she met. This could change when she is not in protective mode over her kittens of course. Marcie has been excellent with the dog - a border collie x retriever, and will ‘talk’ to her whilst rubbing up against her. A home with a cat-friendly dog would be great, too. Marcie would do great in a home with kids as she is gentle when she plays, very confident, loves affection from everyone and is just a great all-rounder cat.
We would like to see Marcie go to a home where she is indoors only for her own safety as well as due to the fact that she is extremely fair in colouring and at a much higher risk of problems down the track such as cancer of the nose and ears. Not to mention, she’s just too darn pretty and confident and would be swooped up by someone far too easily as she would make friends with the entire neighbourhood!
Marcie is booked in for her desexing surgery on December 11th 2023 and will be available for adoption once she has recovered. As Marcie has mostly weaned her kittens (they’ll occasionally nurse - for comfort) we don’t expect that she will have any problems in regards to mastitis once she stops altogether. As Marcie arrived considerably underweight and had kittens to nurse she has miraculously still managed to gain over a kilo in under a month! She still has weight to gain and once desexed and in a new home, she will certainly look a heck of a lot better. Marcie is fantastic with her litter tray and there are honestly no complaints when it comes to this gorgeous girl.
