About Zuri
Zuri’s requirements in her new home.
- A family that lives an energetic life.
- Someone that has read about her breed.
- A resident male desexed dog (not a pup or senior).
- Owners that are committed to ongoing training.
- Patient owners that are able to continue confidence and toilet training.
- An inside/outside lifestyle and to sleep inside overnight.
- No children living in her home.
Zuri has been camping with her foster family and this is their update, Who would like a camping mate, Zuri does!
Zuri has been so incredibly good while camping. We’ve been on a campsite with free roaming horses, sheep etc and she hasn’t gave them a second glance. She was a little interested in the chickens at the start but recalls back without bothering them. She sleeps right through the night in her bed and doesn’t give care for any of the noises outside the tent.
And she’s been amazing in the car, soon as she gets in she curls up to sleep.
Another great update from Zuri's carer
* her confidence in the water is growing and she will now get in for a little paddle. She’s unsure of the waves at the beach but lakes & rivers she loves.
* She absolutely loves hiking and long walks. We’ve taken her on loads of 2hr+ hikes now and she just has the best time exploring. When we finish the walk she looks at us like hey what you mean we’re done 😂
* and she’s still loving the crate. We keep the door open now and she will take herself to sleep here when she’s looking some alone time. At night she mostly sleeps in the crate but sometimes on the sofa.
Zuri, being a Catahoula x breed, is going to be energetic and smart. They are a working breed dog, and will be the happiest when their needs are meet. Information on the breed can be search in Google.
Zuri loves playing tug and she will play tug with anything she can get her paws on. She also loves to sunbathe, and play with other dogs.
Zuri is a typical jumpy pup and will need ongoing training to help her fit into her new family. Zuri is doing well with toilet training but as she is young will still have the odd accident. Frequent visits outside will help her to learn that outside is the place to go.
When Zuri get to know you, she will press her head against your leg, for neck scratches which are her favourite. Because Zuri is an energetic pup she is looking for a home that doesn't have young children.
Zuri enjoys car rides and prefers to sit at the passenger’s feet. As with all pups Zuri’s lead walking is a work in progress. Zuri is smart and has already learnt how to sit on command and is practicing to stay sitting until released.
Zuri is her most cuddly in the morning, she loves to have bed cuddles before her people get up in the morning. Of an evening she enjoys a few cuddles on the couch and then will sleep the night on the couch or her dog bed.
The breed is to the best of our knowledge from the information we've been given.

Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet. We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
