About Obie
Oh hi! My name is Obie. I'm a sweet 2 year old boy in need of some love, patience and understanding. I don't want to go into details, but when I came to Cat Haven, I was scared and stressed, and I am still working on regaining my trust in humans. It's fair to say that at the moment I'm more of a cat cat than a people cat. That's ok though - I come with my very own emotional support cat - my awesome big bro Thor (ID137594). He makes me feel safer, and foster mum says it's very cute when he gives me reassuring licks. He is definitely a people-loving cat, so you'll have someone to hang out with while I'm slowly working on feeling safe around you.
I like hanging out with the cats who live here, and being with my big brother Thor - I definitely feel safer with him around. It took me a little while, but I've decided that it's ok to come out and watch my foster human from a safe distance, especially if my brother Thor or one of the cats who own this place are there too. I have started sneaking closer. I know how far she can reach. I sit just a bit further away than that. I'm pretty sure she hasn't noticed ...
I watch foster mum giving pats to Thor and the other cats - I can't believe they allow it. Have they no shame? Then again, they do seem to enjoy it.... I have let the human give me a pat a few times, just to humour them, but it seems to just encourage them to do it more, so I run away to get some space. Sometimes they have creamy treats, and because they are so delicious, lately I even let them get close enough to lick it off their finger. But then they try and pat me again, and I'm off! Ha - you can't trick me silly human!!
My brother Thor likes to sleep near the foster mum on the bed at night. I don't know why. I sometimes come in and sit and keep an eye on him from nearby (just to make sure he's safe...). I have recently hopped up there myself a couple of times (just to keep Thor company, mind). I'm not so scared anymore. I don't hide all the time - I have worked out I can just move away and watch from nearby, or go hang out somewhere else in the house. Foster mum says that I am much braver now, and that I am "getting there", whatever that means...
Thor and Obie are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Their total adoption package price is $50 ($25 each). #bondedpair #catcompatible #bondedpair
Medical Notes
Obie has presented with a mild case of gingivitis. Dental hygiene may help prevent its development.
Obie has a waiver for a chipped tooth. Our veterinarians have carefully assessed this chip and no further treatment is currently required.
Thor has mild dental tartar and associated gum changes. This is very common in mature cats.
Obie and Thor have a waiver for Cat Flu (recovered).
We are located with my foster family in East Victoria Park.

Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
