PetRescue is seeking an experienced customer focussed professional who wants to help people as much as pets. Working in a small and passionate team, you’ll be the first point of support to provide help and advice with owner support, assisted rehoming and pet adoption queries at PetRescue.
You’ll thrive in this position if you’re organised, enthusiastic about learning, excellent with communication, digitally savvy, enjoy working in teams and helping others, and not afraid to roll up your sleeves for any tasks as needed - big or small - to help people and pets in need.
No day is ever the same but will consist of customer support, creative thinking, teamwork and collaboration. As part of a small team in a program area designed to help people and pets, your tasks will vary from data gathering and data entry, creating reports, customer care, sharing knowledge, copywriting and more. And, of course, you get to look at adorable animals too!
PetRescue is a nationally distributed organisation. This role is open to candidates seeking full-time employment, working in a combination of remote and colocation arrangements. You’ll also be working with awesome teammates distributed across the nation with diverse skills and experience.

Desired skills and experience:
We’re seeking an animal-loving person with the following skills to join us as our newest team member in this full-time customer-focused role:

Excellent communication skills, both written (English) and verbal, with a professional phone manner

Strong attention to detail and high level of organisational skills

Demonstrates ability to work without supervision and effectively manages own time

Proven customer service skills with a high degree of empathy and the ability to represent the organisation in a professional manner at all times

Experience with working with digital-first teams and comfortable with online communication tools, e.g. Slack, Teams or similar, and video conferencing held in high regard, e.g. Zoom, Google Meet or similar

Proficient in email and calendar software, e.g. Google Suite experience preferred but not essential, and comfortable in adapting and embracing learning new processes and digital tools as necessary

Experience with using an Apple Mac is preferred but not essential

Experience in the animal welfare sector is held in high regard but not expected
