About The Bluey & Alice Bunny Refuge
***PLEASE NOTE DUE TO COVID WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT OPEN IN ORDER TO PROTECT OUR VOLUNTEERS HEALTH***
Please make an appointment to meet any of the buns, we are unable to reply to everyone individually
We do not put buns on hold or adopt them out unless you have met them
We take in abandoned, neglected or otherwise unwanted bunnies.
While at the refuge, our buns learn to trust humans and eventually find their forever home. Often rabbits are used purely for money making and are not cared for properly therefore, the information given by breeders or pet stores is often not only wrong but can be really dangerous for the bunnies health.
Many become unwanted pets because of their natural tendencies to spray, they also nip and thump when they are scared. But with desexing, love and care these tendencies go away.
We make every effort to rehabilitate the bunnies while with us - realising that humans bring treats, food, cuddles and aren't all that bad!
With daily interaction the buns realise that humans are not to be feared.
Our intention is to have the buns desexed, vaccinated and used to being handled. There are other family pets on the property so the buns get used to being around different sights, sounds and smells.
Once they are ready for adoption we find them loving, furever homes.
I am a volunteer and try to keep this page updated as much as possible. Unfortunately its not always up to date.
Please do not contact us through phone, contact us via email or through our Facebook page. Or if you're wanting to meet the buns, all you need to do is make an appointment
