About
RescueCat Project (RCP) is a collective of like-minded individuals, all of whom are involved in the practice of rescuing, or helping other to rescue and rehome cats and kittens.
The cats and kittens are, for the most part, rescued from high pounds in Sydney, but also come from the community as we help to re-home cats that are abandoned and which are taken in by the public.
RCP not only rescues cats and kittens in its own right, but it supports a number of other rescue organisations doing the same whether through photography or promotions through our Facebook page. RCP photographs cats and kittens, promotes them through its Facebook page and other media. Where we can (resources permitting) we try to help members of the community who need to rehome their own cat by photographing and promoting those cats to the wider community.
Finally, one of RCP’s members is involved in implementing TNR strategies in Sydney.
RCP is also involved in "catvocacy", that is, advocating for change in the way society views cats and kittens as disposable, and advocating for improved pound facilities in Sydney and ultimately Australia (these should not be warehouses for animals until death, but genuine rehoming facilities that actually try to rehome abandoned and lost animals).
We firmly believe that you may pay an adoption fee, but the love comes free.
