Our 12 shelters throughout NSW provide comfortable accommodation and the best possible care to over 40,000 surrendered, neglected, unwanted, sick or injured animals each year. Shelters are a place where people can seek advice on their pet's health and behaviour. They are also a haven for animals that are lost, abandoned or have been victims of cruelty.
After being assessed medically and behaviourally, animals are either immediately put up for adoption on www.adoptapet.com.au, or are referred to our behavioural team or our vets. Animals with the potential to be rehomed are given every opportunity to find their furever home.
When visiting a shelter you will be required to fill out a comprehensive questionnaire to ensure the staff are able to match you with the right animal for your lifestyle. All adoption animals have received a comprehensive vet check, been desexed, microchipped, treated for internal and external parasites (such as worms and fleas), and had their initial vaccination. Dogs are also heartworm tested and treated.
