About
Canberra Pooch Rescue (CPR) is made up of a group of independent rescuers in Canberra and Queanbeyan, Australia, who save dogs from euthanasia.
Our animals are rescued from death row at pounds and shelters, and we focus on rescuing animals that other groups cannot take.
The dogs are fostered in our own homes until we find them new forever homes.
Whilst in our care the dogs are treated as part of the family and we show them new things that they may not have experienced before, like car rides, meeting cats, children and discovering other dogs. We also endeavour to teach them basic manners and toilet training if necessary.
We make sure they are healthy happy animals when they are adopted.
Adoption details
To enquire about a dog in foster care please email the foster carer in the first instance (using the contact details listed with the dog's description).
The foster carer needs to know about you, your family, and any other pets, about your lifestyle and accommodation, and about the type of dog you want, so that they can help work out if the dog you have selected is right for you.
For dogs, foster carers will also carry out a 'home check' where we look at fencing and shelter for the dog to make sure they are adequate, and advise on anything that needs to be done to make sure your dog will be safe and comfortable.
