About Rosey
Our beautiful Rosey is now ready to find her forever home. Our sweet very affectionate little size medium girl is chipped as a Golden Retriever x Kelpie and weighs in at just 18 kilos
Rosey has an incredible ability to capture hearts with her soulful puppy dog eyes and her gentle, affectionate nature.
She truly is a remarkable little gem, a rare find for any family looking to add a loving member to their household.
ROSEY has truly flourished, winning the affection of everyone she meets, whether they walk on two legs or four. Her presence brings joy and warmth to all family members, making her a wonderful addition to the household.
Rosey is an absolute sweetheart. Her kind and loving demeanor makes her an ideal companion for anyone fortunate enough to welcome her into their lives.
Number one must be human attention, pats, ear rubs, and belly rubs
Playing with her bestie
Having a swim at the local park
Getting that pesky squeaker out of a soft toy
ROSEY enjoys meeting all people. She has been around numerous people and is drawn to everyone with two legs, kids or adults.
She really just wants to please and be loved. She will pop her head in your lap for her favorite head scratch and ear rubs.
Rosey can at times get excited around her humans. Initially, in care, she was quite jumpy, but now with an âahhhâ and âsit,â sheâs learned pats come only when sheâs calm and her bum hits the ground.
She has progressed extremely well with her training and obedience
ROSEY is currently living with a number of dogs with different personalities and has slotted in very well.
She loves her zoomies with her bestie and has formed a close bond with one of the dogs, so she would love a playmate who is into a bit of play but not over the top or annoying.
Rosey is great at playing around the dogs she knows and takes cues well.
She can be a bit exuberant meeting new dogs on walks, so generally, she is walked on a long lead if around other dogs to prevent her from rushing up to say hello.
At times, she may bark out of excitement but is easily redirected.
All her interactions with other dogs so far have been positive.
She has met a cat on her walk and did not seem fussed, so she probably would be okay if there was a dog-savvy cat in the household.
Rosey enjoys a daily walk either down the park with her besties (where she loves to run and play a bit of chase).
She has great recall at the oval when with her crew; under distraction with other dogs, she will need a little more work. ROSEY is not a super high-energy dog but will need daily exercise.
On the lead, ROSEY walks quite well, initially a bit of pulling but soon settles into a sniffy trot. She does like to follow her nose and read the daily news.
Rosey is generally a well-behaved house guest. She is polite, waiting for her food, and rests quietly by your feet if in the lounge or bedroom.
She will sit next to you on the couch if sheâs allowed.
ROSEY does have inside access to part of the home during the day. She has at times chewed her bed but has not been destructive elsewhere in the home.
We feel she just enjoys defluffing soft toys or soft beds for a bit of fun.
She is often found chewing her favorite cow hoof or long-lasting chew like a bully stick.
ROSEY is settled outside the home when required and very rarely barks. She is happy to laze in the sun or keep stimulated by a chew.
ROSEY has been spotted at times enjoying her own game of zoomies, just running around the backyard having fun on her own. She definitely is one of a kind, lol.
Rosey is very good at sitting but sometimes doesnât sit for too long, lol. She takes treats gently and has been working on âdrop.â
She will go to her mat at night
She walks well on a lead but can pull at times if something smells good, lol.
She knows to stay off furniture. Sometimes she is a bit cheeky when told to go outside; she just rolls onto her back in protest.
Rosey can be a bit persistent in requesting pats at times, but she really does win you over with her puppy dog eyes.
Rosey is easily directed to her bed each night for sleep. She sleeps well and quietly during the night. She does have a dog door access
Initially, ROSEY did not enjoy jumping in the car, but now she loves it as it means off to the park.
She is quiet on trips, so she would be a great pup to take on adventures.
ROSEY is house-trained and will use the doggy door as required
She loves to have a good brush and is brushed every couple of days. She has an easy to maintain coat
Rosey and her foster mom have a morning ritual of playing catch. She is great at catching the tops off strawberries as her mom prepares her breakfast. She has perfected the art well.
Her favorite chews are cow hooves, pig ears, or bully sticks. Her foster mom prefers natural chews for her.
Rosey is good at waiting for her food.
She takes food gently when hand-fed
Ideal home:
A home that is willing to hand out lots of pats and belly rubs for our sweet girl
An active home taking Rosey on daily walks, adventures, and maybe a swim
ROSEY would be ok as an only dog but our preference is with a gentle but playful male dog friend who likes zoomies or some gentle wrestle games
A home with children will be fine as long as they can tolerate some excitement at times
A home that will include ROSEY inside their home to be part of the family
A yard big enough for zoomies, so at least a medium-sized yard
No apartment living will be considered
A home with dog-savvy cats should be okay as she has not shown much interest in cats when introduced.
