Stafford Rescue Victoria rescues Stafford Bull Terriers throughout Victoria. We are helped by some dedicated volunteers who give their own time and effort towards ensuring that all staffords get a loving home for life.

If you think you can offer me a forever home please go to

and fill out the Adoption Request Form. You will receive an email acknowledgement within 3 days. If you do not receive any further contact after this please do not be discouraged. It just means that a suitable application was received before yours. We encourage you to contact Jan at jan.hutton@optusnet.com.au every week to show you are still interested in adopting. As we will already have your form on file it will fast track the process when a suitable dog does become available.
Adopt one of our dogs and we are there for you for the rest of the dog's life. If you find you and the dog are not suited it is a condition of sale that the dog comes back to Stafford Rescue.

Looking for love

NO CATS SINGLE DOG HOME OLDER CHILDREN – due to my jumping up on people. Hi my name is Pitch, sadly I ended up in a pound through no fault of my own but luckily SRV was contacted by my original owner so they have found out a little bit about me. I had a rash on my back when I was rescued, it was caused by fleas which I’m allergic to, my original owners never had that problem but in my last home they didn’t fix it so I was very very itchy which was distressing for me, I’ve been treated now and I’m getting cream put on my back which is really soothing and thankfully I don’t itch anymore! You can see by my new photo’s that my skin is better and the hair is growing back, the last photo of me was taken when I was rescued to show you how bad it was but now you can see how good it is, it wont be long before I’m 100% again. I lived with children fro the ages of 3, 6 & 8 yrs old, I was good with them but because I jump up on people I sometimes accidentally knocked them over, so it’s best that I go to a home with older children. I don’t like cats and I’ve never lived with a dog and because I’m so excitable it could cause issues with another dog which could escalate into a tiff. I pull on the lead if allowed to, I take food gently, I know how to sit, drop and even though I’ve had a little bit of training I still need to go to obedience school. I’ve had my behavioural assessment which went well. Looking for love

No cats. Older children only. Hi my name is Maximus but you can call me Max for short. I’m a very sweet boy who is a big softy, I would love to spend the whole day by your side. I’ve lived with children from the age of 10 but because I don’t know my own strength I would be better off with teenagers. I love to play with my squishy ball, I know how to sit, stay and take treats gently, I also wait until you tell me when to eat. I don’t really like male dogs too much but I like female dogs, although I do have food guarding issues so I don’t like sharing. I can pull on the lead so it would be a good idea if I went to obedience to learn not to do that and to socialise around other dogs more. I will be getting my behavioural assessment in the near future so I will update my profile when that is done. Looking for love

Someone home a lot. No young children, teenagers ok. Single dog home because I get over excited. No cats. Hi my name is Boo. Sadly family circumstances have changed and I need to find a new home. I've been in foster care for a couple of weeks and have come a long way since living with Caroline and her family. I can now take food gently and I'm not anxious like I used to be, I have calmed down a lot and have some alternative medicine which is Australian Bush Essence, which has helped me a lot. I've had an operation on my leg which has gone well, I needed my patella fixed, the vet is very happy with my progress so I will be back to my old self in no time and all fixed like a brand new dog. :) I’m scared of loud noises, thunder & lightening and heavy rain but a thunder shirt can help with this, although since having the drops I seem to be a lot better so may not even need that. I love my cuddles and belly rubs, they are my favourite things, I also love the shell pool filled with water. I would love to be with someone who is home a lot so that if a storm comes they can be there for me. I'm a very well behaved boy, I know how to sit, Shake hands, stay on the bed & wait for my food, I'm good on the lead. I would benefit from going to obedience school with my new owners, which I hope is really soon. I’m a very active dog so would love someone that loves to exercise and would take me running with them. I jump up a lot so could knock young children over so it’s best I don’t go to a home with children, teenagers are OK.
