Use the PetRescue Feed to drive your website
One of the biggest challenges faced by shelters maintaining their own websites is keeping the content up-to-date. In today's internet-orientated society, having a current website is a necessity for effectively promoting the rescue animals you have in your care - yet often the skills and resources are not available for this task.
PetRescue have designed an easy solution to the website updating problem - the PetRescue Feed. Update all your listings in the one place using PetRescue's state of the art systems, and your website is automatically updated - eliminating any double-entry and reliance on your web-savvy volunteer.
Similar to the PetRescue web site, but customised for your shelter, this gives you access to PetRescue's features, including automatic image resizing and thumbnail creation, printable posters, email-to-a-friend functionality, and access to 400,000 site visitors per month.
Instructions for using the PetRescue Feed
The easiest way to include your PetRescue listings on your own site via the PetRescue Feed is using a frameset. Note - you don't need to change the whole layout of your site to frames; just the page that you want to include your PetRescue listings on.
Simply place your normal site headers, logos, navigation etc into frames that are derived from your normal site layout, and for the main (central) frame, use the page:
The 'member' value must be changed to your PetRescue member ID. If you don't know your member ID, contact us and we'll happily provide it to you.
The page will be fed from the PetRescue database, and give you all the info you'd normally see on the site - but without the PetRescue logo, navigation and branding.
....and.... that's it really!
The feed can be filtered using a number of parameters - see the detailed options below.
