Introducing Edgar, the little Jack Russell with the absolute sweetest face and eyes to make you melt. This pint sized pup has had a tough past and it just breaks your heart because once he musters up the courage to trust you, you’ll understand that he has so much love to give. Edgar simply needs time, patience, a gentle approach, lots of love and understanding to fill his bucket and in turn he will eventually fill yours with waggy tails, excited greetings, lots of snuggles and even some cheeky play.

Edgar absolutely loves his foster furbaby sisters, and is more often than not found spending his time snuggling with them or using them as a chin rest. They have helped him settle into his foster home immensely and for this reason it would be wonderful if he were able to find a forever family with a submissive pal as a good snuggle partner. He loves to bury his little head into his confidants (both human and animal). This is also his first sign of play.

Edgar can still be a little jumpy with loud noises or sudden movements (more so inside the house). He now absolutely loves walks! He can pull a little on lead however he’s quite good when reminded and his pint size makes him easy. He can pass trucks and trains, strategically placing himself in a protective spot by the side of one of his sisters when he’s overwhelmed. He enjoys meeting other dogs on walks and is just a little sus of those who walk without dogs (but who wouldn’t be?), fast bikes, and balls, needing just a little extra reassurance.

Edgar will happily snuggle with another gentle furbaby overnight and/or in bed with his human folk. When he knows he’s safe, he doesn’t like to be left out and will whimper to make sure that he’s included. He has learnt to sleep in in the morning like all good dogs but will equally wake up early with you if you want. He greets his humans with a wagging tail, smooches and his beautiful tummy outstretched for a rub once he feels that he’s really found love and safety. As Edgar becomes more familiar with his environment he will give you a throaty little cry to let you know his needs (which are ultimately that he wants to be with you or he would like a yummy treat).

Edgar is toilet trained for number twos but he has had a tendency to lift his leg in certain spots inside the house at times, although this has decreased over the past couple of weeks as he’s developed a better routine and is becoming less anxious.

Edgar LOOOOOOVES food. This is a great way to develop trust with him and as a result he should be relatively easy to train.

Edgar can yap if left alone outside for too long and is therefore best with those who either have another furbaby to keep him company and/or someone who is home more often than not. He is happy to be left at home inside the house to snuggle in a bean bag or on his bed if his family needs to pop out for a few hours.

Given Edgar’s pint size and love of snuggles he travels easily and would love to join you on family holidays and outings. He travels well in the car. All in all, Edgar simply needs you to be his cuddle buddy, playmate, anxiety reliever and he will be yours.
