About Pippa
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE, HOWEVER WE CAN ON OCCASION ARRANGE TRANSPORT BY ROAD TO THE PERTH AREA.
NAME: Pippa
BEFORE RESCUE: Came to SAFE Esperance from the pound.
BREED: Jack Russell
BREED TRAITS: : Jack Russells are lively, independent and clever. They are trainable but have a mind of their own and if bored can dig and chew. Jack Russells are devoted to their people, affectionate and love being with them so cannot be left for long periods. They can exhibit 'small dog syndrome' unless well socialised so may be reactive to larger dogs which can get them into trouble if not monitored. Careful and sensitive socialisation from a young age is a must.

ASSETS: easy going, affectionate, devoted, eager to please, friendly, sweet and playful pretty much sums this gorgeous girl up, she's an absolute darling who loves every person she meets!
FAVOURITE THINGS: She enjoys playing with the other dogs in her foster home and seems to get on best with dogs that are larger than her. She does like to chase a ball but will often run away with it rather than return it to you! She also loves all different types of dog toys and is a big fan of her rope toy. She loves to ride in the car and enjoys her naps on the couch.
ENDEARING FEATURES: She's incredibly sweet and loyal and will lap up all the attention she can get. She also has very expressive eyes.
OTHER ANIMALS: She gets on well with other friendly dogs after supervised introductions. She has shown a bit too much interest in cats and has chased so we won't home her with any small animals.
GENERAL INFO: Pippa walks nicely on her lead and is housetrained. Her command training is going great, she knows lots of commands and picks things up fairly easily. She rarely barks and isn't destructive. Pippa could possibly live with another young, friendly dog that she can play with, dependent on meet.
ESSENTIALS for Pippa:
** An active, loving home where someone is there more often than not or can take her with them when going out.
** She could live with a young, playful doggy friend but would be equally happy being the only dog in the home and getting all of the attention as long as she wasn't left for long periods.
** An owner who will continue to train her and possibly take her to classes where she can socialise and learn some new skills in a safe environment.
** Being a fairly young and active girl, she needs good daily exercise and mental activity so will thrive in an active home that is willing to involve her in family activities.
** Pippa needs a fenced, secure yard with grass and interesting things for her to sniff and explore.
** Pippa loves to be with her people so needs to be allowed inside the home and to sleep inside at night.
Pippa loves children so could live with dog-savvy, gentle children (6+) who are old enough to recognize her signals and give her space if she needs it.
