About Boss
Hello potential new family! Please fall in love with me!
My name is Boss please don’t let the name fool you I’m a huge love bug.
I am an American bulldog and I am 3 years old – my foster mum says just a baby still.
So my foster mum said I had to tell you a bit about me hmm okay let’s see
About 3 months ago I found myself in a pound very scared and unsure what my future would be…… the rescue was alerted to me and they quickly got me out of there – i was really nervous and unsure of where I was going but then after a big travel I went to this lovely ladies home and she told me she was my foster mum and my new life was just starting
It has been a great few months learning all about living in a home environment.
My foster mum says that I am a huge cuddle bug who loves to spend my days on the couch with a blanket and if you’re on the couch with me happily resting my chin on your arm.
She says I’m very calm in nature and as I’m such an indoor boy it works perfectly. I do still like to have access to outside to do boy business and stuff like that (I am toilet trained) but I also like to do a regular perimeter of my home. My foster mum says that while I am not a barker by nature if I do have a reason to bark – it’s a good quick bark
While I of course, like most dogs, would love someone at home all the time, I am able to be home alone if you’re at work etc. I would need access to the outside and inside and I will happily sleep my day away while you’re at work earning the bikkie money!
My foster mum says I have patience with other dogs that are friendly and not dominant. I would prefer to be an only dog or living with another calm dog (at the moment I live with a boisterous younger dog and from time to time I have had to remind her that she is playing to rough and feisty.
I am fine with kids but of course am a bigger breed so can accidentally knock them over when playing so supervised play is recommended for kids under 10 years old (or people who understand my breed is not trying to be rough I’m just klutzy around them).
I do have some reactive behavior around food so my foster mum always makes sure that I am sitting before placing meals down for me to eat. And I am left alone to eat with no other dogs or children around me. She says it’s really easy to manage it’s just now part of her routine
I can walk on a lead but with my size and strength definitely need a harness when walking and just consistent reminding if I forget.
I can sit and shake hands on command
Oh yeah I nearly forgot to tell you, thanks for reminding me mum, I LOVE water, I love the pool or the garden hose and I’m sure I would even like to try a beach one day if my family was willing.
I also love car rides so that will make it easier for us finding heaps of water locations
I would love a home where the family wants me to be a part of their lives – inside and out – I love being where you are and just generally been near you.
If you think you could make me part of your family & are interested in applying to adopt me, please send thru an adoption application, I can’t wait to have a family of my own.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
