About Dexter
Hi I’m Dexter, a loyal , loving and affectionate future companion to you if you’re willing to let me into your heart. I was cast away after I was no longer ‘useful’ to a backyard breeder and so now I want a household where I feel loved and not used.
I have a lovely mouth of pearly whites so I am able to munch on a variety of foods. I am not a fussy eater. I am coming out of my shell with the help of my foster carer’s 12 year old resident dog and a young visiting dog who I chase several times a day. I play for a short time with squeaky soft toys but after I’ve given them a decent shake, I leave them alone.
I am fully toilet trained and sleep well during the night. I enjoy a slow walk and as I have a sensitive front left elbow, I find after walking for about 15 mins I start to limp. I come good again after a rest. I don’t particularly like every dog I see on my walks but my body language will let you know if I’m uncomfortable. I like the company of dogs in my household, so my foster family think it preferable that I go to a home where I have a furry playmate.
I would be suited to an older family who does not focus too much on walking fast or long distances and a house that has minimal stairs. I like sitting in the sun and chasing small lizards in the garden but I always like to know you are not far away. I enjoy being bathed and easily fit into a laundry tub.
I like to sit by your feet, cuddled up against your leg on the lounge or in your lap. I am obedient to the point of being submissive. I like a scratch on the tummy and at the back of my ears, in fact I love any form of affection as this was lacking in my former life.
If you would like to meet this Shire boy, please send us an informative email so my foster carer can see if we are a good match. Our email is sasrescue@gmail.com
Thanks for your time,
Love Dexter
