About Yabbie
Yabbie!!
What a name to give this dog! It really does suit him..
Yabbie LOVES the water, when we put him to bed at night we have to give him 2 water bowls because he loves to dig in them and keep his feet cool! Through the day he goes out into his pen which has a shell pool waiting in there for him which he gets in a plays with... So really anything with water is a must for this boy!
Another thing Yabbie LOVES is other dogs!!! while hanging out at BARC Yabbie is in a play group with another dog that is also up for adoption Georgie they just adore each other and have the best play together in the water.
Now just to list another thing Yabbie LOVES is ball fetch! This is the best thing ever as long as he has his pool he can go back to. Yabbie and Georgie both play fetch together and are great as long as you have 2 balls (One each).
So really Yabbie is just an awesome dog!
This boy would be an ideal best friend for the kids who enjoy being outdoors running around, getting wet and dirty, having a throw of the ball and just simple hanging out. Yabbie would enjoy being in doors with the family where he can keep an eye on his people and make sure he is there for all the love in the world.
Being almost 2 Yabbie still requires some training even through he does have basic commands already, he has 2 very smart switched on breeds in him that he would benefit from being kept busy and enriched!.
Everyone at BARC love this boy.. he is such a sweetie who just wants a family to love him. Will that family be you??
To book a meet and greet with Yabbie please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
